Personally i don't like the stick that much. It has a midi sound which I find disgusting, especially compared to the sound of an electric bass, like Squire's. Also, I find the normal instruments better in the way they have more range in playing sounds. You can pluck, slam, pop, use a plectrum etc.

Man that site is awesome. And, for personal opinion, i enjoy the stick. The sound is unique and i think adds something to the music. I'm also a huge fan of bass as well. I think the mood or atmosphere of the song determines which is better. Take Discipline by KC for example. Having the bass would make all the songs, not only sound different, but give them a different feel.

I partially agree with jim (i think you can look cool playing them)

I love the stick sound and i love the possibilities it gives you (anyone can beat Petrucci in speed after a bit of practising and that's definitely not something he needs to be ashamed of) and everything on it makes perfect sense. All the major, minor and other chords are exactly the same on all places of the stick, so the design is really brilliant!
If you don't like the midi sound, listen to a stick without the midi thing on it. The midi thing (whatever that might be) is optional on sticks.
If you think sticks are limited to just tapping, you're right, but on the ns stick you can tap, pluck and do whatever you do on a regular guitar or bass guitar. This instrument should be VERY cool to play for bass players too. At least that's what Ron Baggerman (www.galaxygypsy.nl) told me so try it if you're a serious bass player!

Of course the coolest thing about the stick is that you can play solos and accompany them with bass at the same time.

Sure, the stick has its minor points, but so do all other instruments.
Well, the rest is just a  matter of taste i guess
