Yes!
Shrooms aren't quite such a problem though - you can start off with say 10g and work up - that said, how strong they are is very unpredictable - I had 30 on my first trip and was fine [no one sober around until my friend's parents got home, pretty weird experience when I wanted to run around outside and I was just staring at my shoes which weren't tied, my mate's mum asked if I could do them up - I managed, just about], just a little hazy and weird movement but my friends had 30 of the same type and had completely mad trips.
With acid, however (I'm not speaking from experience here, so anyone feel free to correct me), it's even less easy to tell how strong a tab is, because of the way it's broken down very quickly and triggers something else. |
I never badtriped on the wild mushrooms i pick into the cow fields ("psylocibe semilanceata" or "liberty caps"). I took them more than 100 times, and sometimes at high dosage (100 on an empty stomach), i've even made two trips in the same days (70 in the beggining
of the afternoon, and the same when the high came down four or five hours later).
But one time, i bought a mex psylo mush kit and was close to badtripping...
I found the high to be too strong (also i took accidentaly 4 times the right dosage and hve a rough time.)
To come back to the previous message, it can be good to
meditate , i mean empty your mind, breath and relax, sing mantras or anything you want in order to "plug" yourself on higher atral energies.

That's pretty awesome. I can imagine a lot of prog being very heavy on acid..
I remember the first time listened to CTTE really stoned. My god.. |
You're right, most of prog music is made under psychedelia.
That's what is written on the back cover of Gong's "Camembert elctrique" (which is an allusion to acid, for the few who don't know)
It's written:"file under psychedelia"
On the back of Obsolete (gong with french poet dashiell hedayat):
"This record must be play at loud as possible and as stoned as impossible"!
I also think that german bands took more acid than all other bands...
Listen to amon dullII, Deuter, etc...

German prog is fantastic. I already frequently listen to Can and Tangerine Dream [both psychedlic], and I actually just recently started listening to Amon Duul II and Gong, and both are great... but really, both of those bands are much, much more psychedelic than a lot of other bands. Like, Phallus Dei and Yeti are blatantly psychedelic and basically complete insanity. I need some Kraut Rock albums!!
I wonder about bands like Yes, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, even Genesis... more mainstream prog bands, like the generally symphonic/art type. How many of them were influenced by psychedelics?

ots not that germans did more acid, its just the type of prog alot of them did was very electronic and swaving(its not a word, but it shows the pioNT)krautrock focused on texture and the change of it and that means freaky out of sinc tunes. If you think bands like td and ammounduul 2 and can are crazy , listen to some Ashra tempel. They are the limit.

Boy eddy thats brillant, jumping from the skillet into
the fire!
All hallucenigens are gateway drugs to spiritual(not
heavenly angels) open doorways. Usually the first
experiences are like Alice In Wonderland and great!
The problem with opening doors is closing them on
the way out!
Dabbling with friends creates a safer environment
but you will come out of your safety zone. Occultist
are much more aware of the uses of hallucinagenics
. The acid test is one of the heart and you may or
may not find that door you opened was the one for
you. Mental institutions are full of acid casualties and
many peoples lifes have been wrecked by the use of
hallucenagenics. My advice is stop at a lesser level
youll have plenty of troubles in life to deal with,
without more!
Yes I have done every kind their is hundreds of
times, I have seen all the ups and downs. Good and
bad, its not really what it looks like from the outside!

Drug story: One day in the late '80's a friend and I went up into
the mountains above Santa Fe and tripped on acid. When we got
home (coming down but still tripping) I asked my friend if he had ever
heard Dark Side of the Moon. I asked this knowing he had spent
the 70's in a strict religious community and missed most of what went
on in the outside world. Well, he hadn't heard it so I put it on
and cranked the volume. EEEEEEEEEE he went nuts!!! He was
flying around the house in Pink ecstacy!!!! He was dancing and
thrashing to the music of the spheres! I made a tape of it for
him and it lived in his car stereo for the next year and a half.
What a great day!

Cool story.
Dark Side of the Moon is an obviously fantastic album, but most of it's appeal is gone for me.

If you like amon dull II, try the 20mn piece on "tanz der lemmingen" (their best album)
