Male, i think...

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Where's the Ed Wood choice in this poll.

Edward D. Wood, Jr.: I like to dress in women's clothing.
Georgie Weiss: You're a fruit?
Edward D. Wood, Jr.: No, not at all. I love women. Wearing their clothes makes me feel closer to them.
Georgie Weiss: You're not a fruit?
Edward D. Wood, Jr.: No, I'm all man. I even fought in W.W.2. Of course, I was wearing women's undergarments under my uniform.

I'm always almost unlucky _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Id5ZcnjXSZaSMFMC Id5LM2q2jfqz3YxT

OK guys you are forcing me out  I am a female too - which would possibly now account for the five votes (so far) on the poll.

Yes it´s true, I have made myself the same question. I guess women normaly like a more popish sound with balads and I´ll love you forever kind of songs. Theres not much of that in prog music ( thank God) allthough there are bands that can atract women like Genesis, a good friend of mine (female) is a huge fan of the Tales from topographic oceans from Yes...so there are some...but I would have to say that this kind of music is almoust a guys thing!!!

Wow, there are some girls like us! but 5 out o 200 and in an international website on the genre...
Here, were I live, finding a girl who listens to good music, not even Prog, is like finding a needle in a very, I repeat very big hay stack, They all listen to rythmic, BAD, very bad music (like reguetton, champeta, vallenato, pop etc...) Its sad but true, I guess they have a necesity to discart anything that isn't  CATCHY...
no great genius has existed without a touch of madness...

One of the best things about being female at a live prog concert is i never have to wait in line for the ladies room!!

I have a lot of friends who are female and love ELP... and now I see that valravennz is female and I know she likes ELP... so I guess ELP is the prog band for the ladies...

Well besides being so wonderfully talented... all three are absolutely gorgeous!!!

yeah that wait in line for the ladies room is a distinct advantage of being in the minority at a concert - particularly these days. Not so, back in the 70's, when there were many more female fans of the genre at live concerts

However, ELP is indeed a favourite of the ladies, this one in particular too ... and they are gorgeous...love that photo ...Hugely admire their talent as musicians - Cheers Linda

Very strange that there aren't more women who listen to prog, of which I'm one.

I still seem to get mistaken for a guy...even with my avatar. I usually don't say anything because it's funny to watch people keep on ASSuME-ing...but since you have this poll...

Ok, I can’t keep quiet any longer : I’m female, I love prog, and just like Moogtron III’s female friend, I’d be listening to a lot more VDGG if it weren’t for Hammill’s croaking (I wish someone would pinch the little bugger’s a$$ ).

But don’t get any high hopes, guys : I’m 55 and share my life with a wonderful man who (alas…) considers Cher and C.C.R. the quintessence of art. Nothing a good pair of headphones and a mutual sense of humour can’t fix, really .

I admit I do love CAMEL, GENESIS and the other ‘gurlie’ types (read ‘neo-prog’ such as IQ, ARENA, PORCUPINE TREE ), but my ears also perk up at the sound of OZRIC TENTACLES, DEUS EX MACHINA, AFTER CRYING, ANGLAGARD, etc.

Prog is fun. It can even be a passion (ask Threefates), no matter what sex or age you are.

Luv,

BouBou

See, the nasty boys don't drive EVERY woman away.

and BTW, Hibou- my wife feels the same way about Hammill, though she said "I just want to slap him every time he opens his mouth."

Oh Wow!!  Another female in my age group who loves prog and neo-prog too. I must admit I have not heard (yet) Ozric Tentacles, Deus Ex Machina & After Crying. But I really like the odd round of Rhapsody, Stratavarious, Nightwish and Dark Metallers Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation. I will try out anything new and my latest fascination is Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions In The Sky. I am currently listening to "In Absentia" - Porcupine Tree and hope to write a review for it shortly.

As Threefates has alluded to, I love ELP as well as Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Camel, VDGG and neo-progs Glass Hammer, Liquid Tension Experiment, Porcupine Tree and Spock's Beard.

My partner dislikes prog and is into the nice soft music eg: Dido, Annie Lennox and (God spare me ) Boy Bands!!! Yes - a pair of head phones and a sense of humour is required!

Looks like we woman could make a small dent in predominantly male world of prog rock forums. Nice to meet you, BouBou

I think I could concur with your wife and Hibou's opinion of Hammill

^ luckily she's not troubled too often with VDGG in this house. I think she hid my Legendary Stardust Cowboy album, though...
