I am an ex-pilot and cannot fly anymore for medical reasons. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has some flying stories. Belleive me I have a few. Dave Gilmour is a flier Mike Oldfield is a flier and many other prog musicians. My first love, though, is music. You could never take that away from me. Robert Fripp is God.

Landberkoten - I'm curious as to why you KEEP posting that message, as it seems to have nothing to do with flying - I translated it using Babelfish (I know, it's not exactly super-accurate!!), and it produced this:

GREETINGS And FORTS HUGS To OUR COUNTRIES LATIN AMERICAN BROTHERS, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC And HAITI; HOPING THEY FIND QUICK RESIGNATION And HOPE IN HIS GIVEN HEARTS The CIRCUMSTANCES HAPPENED IN THE LAST DAYS. The BEST TODAY And ALWAYS FROM MEXICO

I don't see any references to pilots here.

Not only is there no reference to pilots, but since when are two countries populated by people of African descent, who speak French, Creole and some English considered Latin American?

Perhaps as a pilot in his own flight of fancy?

Myn uncle flew Mosquitos during the second world war with The Royal New Zealand Air Force. He WILL NOT TALK about what he did except when really drunk. He was a big inspiration to me.

Thanx for asking. About three weeks ago, natural disasters hit the populations of Dominican Republic and Haiti. Due the storms impossible to tame for obvious nature forces, heavy floods affected the inhabitants and provoked the loss not only of their homes, but of their belongings and unfortunately of their families and loved ones. I thought I was in that kind of possition of being supportive and also thought it was my responsability to show some respect and care for them. Of course this has nothing to do with pilots or music whatsoever, but since this is a forum, I felt free to post this speech that claims for brotherhood and union in here without any political, social or cultural matters and ever since I am part of a Latin American legacy and a jigsaw piece of the worldwide puzzle, I wanted to make a difference.

Thank you, keep talking about pilots...

Land

(BTW, that Babelfish Translator sux... It would be easier to learn how to write and read Spanish)

First of all, I'd like to say Thank you dude for being such a well educated person that shows a bit of respect instead of acting like the opposite to it. My point had nothing to do with pilots or music like I just replied, it was about a call to everyone concerned about this post and to let them know what happens in this part of the world.

Peace,

Land

Don`t we all wish this could be a perfect world. When I was in the Air Force I never wanted to kill another man. We would intercept these Soviet bombers and we would smile and wave at one another. I don`t think that even if the order was given I could have done it.

Peace,

Land

The trouble with text is that you can read attitudes into it that aren't there!

If you go back and re-read them, but imagine that the attitude is one of light fun and curiosity, rather than riducule and animosity, you will see that we're only being friendly - and pulling your leg a bit for making an off-topic posting.

Kudos to Dude for spotting that it could easily have been misinterpreted!

*peace - and I hope your difficulties in Mexico are past!*
