Topic: Retired Proggers? Posted: May 01 2005 at 07:41 |
After mentioning in another post that Vince from Fruupp works in
my local guitar shop and plays in a covers band in my local pub...I was
wondering how many other old prog rockers are living/working near you
etc etc?
Should be intresting...Do you live next door to Mr Gabriel eh?

Not a progger, but many years ago I used to bump into Danny Kirwan (ex Fleetwood Mac) from time to time - beat that as a lame to fame!

A friend of mine invited me to the pub one evening, with a view to joining a band.
I walked into the pub, and there he was with a guy who looked considerably older than him - even from the back.
"I'd like you to meet my friend Gary", said my friend.
It was only Gary Moore... (Colosseum II, Thin Lizzy - that Gary Moore!).
I nearly dropped my pint!
He went on to become my roadie - but I've already told that story!

Well seeing as Gary Green (guitarist for Gentle Giant) lives somewhere in the Chicagoland area, he is in my neighborhood (I live about an hour west of the closest suburb). It would be cool to see him play in a bar or something; I'm not sure if he still does this or not.
