Fair enough, I got out of hand too. Can't blame people for feeling passionate about thier beliefs.

PS. Your right, I don't think they would know what to do with that.

Anyway, Happy 4th! Even you Synth, if you happen to

I might have posted this twice, but anyway.
Nice,
Mr. Mark the Shark, you know nothing about me.
If you hadn't noticed, I chose not to repond to your
last post directed at me. Perhaps that's the reason
for the attack? Who are you to question my
patriotisim?
In any event, I respect you for your service to our
country, and I thank you for it.
Be well, and enjoy the holiday.
Peace,

Well, what Gleam posted to Nacho last, same goes to you. I respect your convictions and you're welcome! I think I'll have beer before we start kissing!

You have a good one too.

Meh, I don't really hate the guy.  He's done an ok job in office.  I'm not against the conflict in Iraq for, as a student of war, I can look past the ethics involved and focus on the strategical value of certain things.

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

Yep, sadly that seems to be a very common problem...

Dare you mention Mr. Churchill in the same scentence as Thatcher and Bush - that should be against the law.

best for himself and his father's cronies you mean!  taking a country into an illegal war which had no relevance to 9/11 and watching thousands of civilians die, not too mention US soldiers - yep, that's for the best of the country...NOT!

Winston was wery charismatic, I just got a 60+min. CD of his speeches. It's difficult to judge his political qualities, as I'm not so familiar with the backgrounds or the time when he was on power. At least they were guite sh*tty times...

Some of his immortal statemets: (to a woman who moralized his overdone state of drunkness during the parliament's gathering) "Mylady, I may be drunk now, but tomorrow mornign I'm sober, whilst you are still ugly."

There should be more candidates on the first election round... But, luckily I don't have anything to do with it.

To be fair, everyone else in the country makes America look way too left wing.

Yeah, I hate the motherf*cker.  Not him as a person, neccessarily, but him as a president.  He comes off as kind of a partier, seems like he'd be a fun guy to get drunk with, maybe do a line or two in the oval office, bomb a country together.

The paycuts are pissing me off.  My dad lost about 40% of his paycut, which was just great for his depression, and gives me even better hopes for college.

i can most easily describe my hate of bush in terms of execution: i i would choose crucifixion, but that would make him look like a religious man (which he clearly isn't) so i'll go with firing squad. but, the squad would shoot him in the ankles and he would have to bleed to death.

i'm not perticularly for execution, but if there is any justice in the world, every member of the bush administration that actively collaborates in the behind-the-curtains dealings involving big oil and iraq needs to be, at least, jailed for the rest of their lives. cheney deserves death more than bush though.

i hope the attorney general doesn't accuse me of treason or threatening the life of our basterd president because of this post.

Please, let's be truthful at least.  Bush graduated in the bottom quarter of his Yale class of 1968 with a low 'C' average, and only got accepted to begin with because of his family lineage.  He did graduate from flight training in the Texas Air National Guard, but his low pilot aptitude score of 25 nearly disqualified him before he even started.

He and his brother Jeb have been at the helm as governors of the two states that have executed more Americans in the name of 'justice' than all other 48 states combined.  He has reversed two of the only three years in my lifetime of non-deficit spending, by running up the largest federal deficits in our history, three years running.  At the same time he continues to authorize our Federal Reserve to borrow money daily from the world market to finance tax cuts for our wealthiest citizens, as well as finance wars on the Iraq and Afghanistan fronts that have killed far more human beings than ever perished on 9/11, and redirected funds that might have spared the Gulf Coast in the recent hurricane there, to finance those wars instead.  He has tolerated the imprisonment of hundreds of 'prisoners of war' in Cuba and elsewhere without any of the due process of the laws he is sworn to uphold.  If the flag flying over his head were any other than ours (or possibly Britain's), he would be on trial today in the Hague for that alone.

I, like most Americans, am proud of my country.  I served 12 years honorable active duty in the Marine Corps myself, so I believe I have as much right to say this as anyone:  this man is not acting in the best interests of our nation, or of the world community of which we are a part.  His actions are myopic, xenophobic, and frankly dangerous.  I for one can't wait to see his backside leaving Washington in three years.

"Peace is the only battle worth waging."
