It doesn't tell you much about the album - the review is rather about prog vs. non-prog, or a little more specific Phil Collins aera Genesis vs. Early Genesis. |

It's an arrow to the post above. In turn, it's the lazy man's way of clicking the quote button. But only works if the post is directly above the one you are writing. Now I could have put instead of the quote: ^It's an arrow to the post above. In turn, it's the lazy man's way of clicking the quote button. But only works if the post is directly above the one you are writing. Get it? |

Cygnus, the DT review is marginal. It does make a brief comment on the content but, I've contacted the reviewer. Garion, yes, abuse of the site, deleted. Cygnus, agree, the comments in the review would be better discussed in the forum. Thanks all for reporting, I'm checking every new review anyway. |

This is an evil review. If any-one opposes to Queen being added to the site, do so as RichardH himself indicates in the forum, and ask in a decent manner if M@X or Ronnie will please erase Queen from the archives. This is an open invitation for others to reply in the review section, and the same thing will happen as happened with radiohead at first. I hope other reviewers are smarter than him, and will refrain from responding to the review with another faulted review. Keep discussions where they belong, right here in the forum. Don't go counter reviewing this tripe in the review section. if you issue a review for Queen make it an honest one, about the music, and the accomplishment from the band. prog fans are smarter than this aren't they?

Ironically, he chose the most progressive album of Queen ... I mean, he could at least have said "This album may be progressive, but Queen is not a progressive band". |

Yep - it was an idiotic review written from spite - I mean, I love Muse, but they've so far not delivered anything as progressive as Queen. And the whole "I don't care" tone sucks, especially as the review guidelines now explicity state that you are agreeing NOT to write a forum post as a review. Richardh IS smarter than this. I'm surprised, frankly. Richard - if you feel so passionately for Muse, use the submission form. But you may be in a minority in considering them as prog (which I will join...). |

AYREON Into The Electric Castle
Review (Permanent link) by pepene blond @ 4:48:15 PM EST, 7/29/2005 — this review is just a good pretext to say what i want to say (that don't means i dont have this album in my collection). You guys have a passion, a true passion: to delete my reviews. Ok i can't speak english good so i really can't respect your reviews laws, but that don't mean that i don't know nothing about prog rock, i know so much and i have a really big prog collection. Another thing i want to say is ......that in this site exist a only one romanian band, in the reality exists 3 prog romanian bands (just if you care about that): SFINX ( witch are sometimes symphonic, blues and hard but true prog) and CELELALTE CUVINTE (witch are not prog all the time, but almoust all the time, they are an art rock band with heavy and symphonic moments).............and......about the electric castle what can i say?.....is a 5 stars album, is a perfect space metal.........at last......please delete my review...i know you like to do that. Good luck
I just don't get it - why won't he just say a few more words about the album and cut the irrelecant crap? It would be a perfectly valid review then. Edited by MikeEnRegalia |

TOOL Lateralus
Review (Permanent link) by theflyingjunior @ 4:44:13 PM EST, 4/2/2005 — No rating about this indeed, One star is only for the motivations that you will read in next few words. This because i've putted on my opinion a few time ago...once again an advise for those who really like prog music in the true meaning of this genre of art. Definitely this is not prog. I won't resctrict anything in a small cage of style, but with open mind and good intentions simply i found this out of our world (we're inside of Progarchive....isn't it ?) If you search for hard rock, metal deviations, some experimental stuff, maybe you will find this enjoyable, but if you look for true prog music (at least neo prog) please put your ears on something else. Even in metal prog you could find music that well could be compared to the past splendors, (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension experiment, Karmakanic, Ayreon, etc.....) but Tools are not in this stream. Be sure of this. Hope to be useful not to spend money and time in something that at last you will not like. Take only the time to listen to a sample of them and you will understand. This comment is valid in the same way for Radiohead that is simply Bit pop with quite good musicians and good ideas but nothing more then this Bye
Only the line in bold is about the music on this album.

TOOL Lateralus
Review (Permanent link) by Who cares? @ 3:06:09 PM EST, 7/5/2005 — I just read the review by the hand of 'the Ryan' and I want to ask him if he lost his brains somewhere before the time he wrote it. First of all the discussion about Tool being a prog. rock band or not is absolutely retarded. It's simply impossible to create any genre that has absolutely definable 'borders'. Tool definitely has a progressive sound and we can all start whining a one another wheter or not it is prog rock, prog metal or whatever but what's the point in that? You either like them or you don't regardless what genre somebody stuck to it. 'The Ryan' clearly is a person who doesn't understand this concept and pathetically try's to define himself as a prog rock hardliner because that makes him feel like he truely belongs to some clique. This phenomenon is seen everywhere nowadays on all kinds of different 'levels' and it's absolutely pathetic. Some fine examples are the evergoing 'discussions' between ps2/xbox/ngc fanboys, black-metal fans telling other people what's 'true'(sigh) and so on. And it always comes down to 'yes it is/no it isn't' type conversations that are normal when you are 6 years old but you're supposed to realize someday they don't get you anywhere amd they are annoying beyond belief. If all those fanboys would just start listening to music without all those genre-based premature judgements and they would try to dicuss it while actually using arguments, we could spare ouselves the type of useless BS like mister know-it-all 'the ryan'
Ps. I think this album is really great, although not as great as Aenema, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in unconventional music. Jus listen and see for yourself..... |

Ayreon dealt with Mike. Thanks Manunkind, I'm working my way through all the reviews, so I'll deal with the older ones as I get to them unless they're clearly abusive. I'll make an exception for these though, and will deal with them shortly. |

A DT fanboy review: DREAM THEATER - Images And Words (1992) — Best DT album ever!!!- best rock album ever? My humble opinion lads. If you after more and more progressive, go following a different band- you will never be satisfied won't you? So go end up listening to dead bands. DT remains the kings of the category and Metropolis alone stands as a masterpiece of music. Glory to DT!
