Excellent work Rover. I'm glad to see someone else is inspired by this amazing, uncompromising piece of music.

I've always thought Toccata is kind of ELP's prog/punk track. It's like they're saying: "Here's what we do. Cop a load of this. And if you don't like it **** off!"

Toccata is an insane track.(I love it!) That artwork is very good.I once saw an animated featurette based on this music and that was also very interesting. As Alberto Ginastera is quoted on first hearing ELP's version of his peice:- 'Terrible!..Terrible!'  (he liked it!)

What is truth?

Anyway its not true, for one thing it's not a song is it. Ginastera liked it, so he must like sh*te too. And me come to that! Where did I get the name Snow Dog from? If I like Toccata, but its sh*te, what does that say about other stuff I like?

That is a really good question. So what exactly is the substitute for Toccata? I would love to know as well!

^ Something by Phil Collins in the 90s most likely...

Toccata is not only a wonderful versatile, chaotic, extremely complicated piece of music, but its also beautiful in its arrangement and its structure.  I gave this to a friend recently who's a Floyd fan.. and he really hadn't heard it...  First he said.. what the "f" is that??  Then he said, Man thats the coolest thing I've ever heard....

Then I sent him here:

THIS IS ELP

I think "Tocatta" is the best E.L.P. song along with "Take a Pebble", but I don't mind somebody else doesn't get it. Actually it's Alberto Ginastera's song!

Nice pic! I also got some goblin-related associations from it, perhaps it's the silent part before commodore 64 gets opened .
