Of the list I'll go with Hackett Horizon, but I think Classical gas from Jan Akkerman is absolutely amazing !!

My vote goes for the intr oto "Blood". But again, "Mood for a Day" was originally played on a Flamenco guitar (it also has nylon strings) and "Horizons" was originally recorded on a steel string acoustic guitar (therefore, not classical). |

And it's weird, being spanish, from Andalucia and the hometown of Paco de Lucia, that my favourite piece of flamenco-ish music is this one. Anyway, my vote goes for Hackett's 'Blood on the Rooftops', which I find to be just magical. I love that autumnal mood of the song. A pity he didn't play it in an acoustic live show I attended to last week. |

I was born in Andalucia, too, my friend, more specifically, Cádiz. I currently reside in Lima since 1986, but I spent the first 18 years of my life in that little Andalusian town. |

Yes.. Gilmour really played guitar on ITAOT... geez And we all know how I feel about Gilmour..(and I'm certain you know how I feel about Greg Lake) but my favorite classical guitar solo is the acoustic solo by Greg on "Memoirs of an Officer and Gentleman".. "Love at First Sight". You have to hear it to see what I mean.. with Keith's acoustic piano that comes in with him... its a melter!! |

Hey, so the famous (at least in prog fans circles) Cesar Inca has somthing in common with me!. Now I know of three Cadiz (province) born prog lovers: you, me and 'Engel', a guy who released a good Oldfieldish CD a couple of years ago. Sadly, never heard of more!. |

Um Im actually fairly sure he didn't actually. My vote away goes for the end section of The Ancient but if I'm allowed (coz it's a classical guitar piece played on an electric guitar) he middle section of Soundchaser (both Steve Howe) |

Hello to everybody! I´m new in this forum. Please, forgive for my english, I know it´s very bad.
I´m from Cadiz too, Paco. I was born in Algeciras and now I live in Madrid. It´s a great surprise to meet prog lovers from Andalucia. Well, for me the best piece of guitar are: - The end section of the Ancient (from Tales). - Mood for a day. Edited by multitudinario |

A lovely intro of high quality is on the first UK Album (UK, without
further title): the song is called "Evermore". Alan Holdsworth is
playing classical guitar as an intro to the following artistic fight
between him and Eddy Jobson on keyboards (synth, org. etc). It's a
savourish track of music.

Hello, Paco and Multitudinario. Earlier this year, a jazz guitarist named Andrés Olaegui (born in Puerto de Sta. María - Cádiz, of course) released an album called "Como Niños", full of excellent jazz with flamenco touches. He used to be one of the two guitarists in the band Guadalquivir, back in the late 70s. His website is located here: http://www.andresolaegui.net/ Recommended -- pure talent from Southern Andalusia. Oh, by the way, Steve Stevens played some damn good flamenco stuff in both Bozzio Levin Stevens albums. Regards. Edited by Cesar Inca |
