Topic: A correct Southern European Poll Posted: April 26 2005 at 08:24 |
That should be the correct Southern Europe poll! Some bands had to be left out due to the restricted number of choices...

I voted for Banco to give them a vote. Hope someones votes for Le Orme ! And Magma, and Pulsar and...
I'm afraid I don't agree with your list : in my opinion Halloween's Merlin is not a "classic". What do you think ?

I haven't even heard half of those albums
but I voted for MDK, because I cannot imagine that another album from southern Europe would even come close to that masterpiece.

Crack's 'Si todo hiciera crack' is one of the few spanish prog album that hasn't flamenco influence, and also one of the very best prog album to come out of Spain.
My vote goes to them, not really because they would be my favourite band of the abovecited ones, but rather because they don't receive a vote until now.

It wasn't ignorance. I really thought of JC but I couldn't delete any other essential album on the list... ...

Of the above I heard only Indexi, Leb i sol, Igra staklenih perli and Aphrodite's Child. "666" is great album, but since I am coming from ex Yugoslavia I would like to point out INDEXI-"Modra rijeka" which is a masterpiece of rare exYugo symphonic prog. "Leb i sol II" is also a great jazz-rock album, while "Igra staklenih perli" is reviewed here in Archives so check it out!

I didn't like that album really much either. But I have some problems with French prog overall.
Anyways, I voted for Dun - Eros. Not because it's my favourite from the
list but it could be my fav French prog album and it's definately a
classic. Besides, I do want to keep an open mind to French prog .

I only know about half the albums on the list, though some of the others are on my wish list. My vote went to MDK, although I'm not sure that French bands should be included as France isn't really Southern Europe geographically, though you could argue that it is more like Southern Europe culturally (at the risk of outraged PMs from our French members).

My favourite italian album (and of many other prog fans) is 'Force le Luciole non si amano piu' (or something like that) from Locanada dalla fate. Anywa, among the proposed, my vote goes for 'Storia di un minuto': Impressione di Septembre is just great. And there's no party with my friends where we don't end up singing e.. Festa! (or in the english version: ce.....lebration!)

It isn't my favorite French album. I just remember it sounded good. I'll listen to it again to see if I'm wrong.

My vote goes for TAKO but I like also the other ex-YU bands (dobro sviraju! ).
I've listened (once at least) to all the bands on the list. I want to
have a very broad collection because almost every country has something
special to offer!
It's great that such an excellent space rock band like IGRA STAKLENIH PERLI was added to the archive!
LEB I SOL should also be added! They are clearly prog oriented and one of the most exciting prog fusion bands.
