Ok... had a great night evidently. I attended Nick Mason's book signing at B&N here in Manhattan.  It went really well. I met some internet friends and and I hung out with the guys from Brain Damage...104 DJ Jim Kerr stood with me and put me on mike and I was the second person that was allowed to ask a question of Nick... they only allowed 5 questions. I was actually allowed 2 questions and it went so well.. that later when Nick was signing books... I was the only one he stood up and hugged and kissed. How cool is that...

Anyway my questions: I said I heard a rumor that David's new solo album may actually be a Floyd album and I wanted to know if this was true. Nick said he heard the same rumor, but he has not been approached by anyone to play on Dave's album... So I guess its not true..

Next I said I understand that Clare Torry's case was settled out of court in her favor and I wanted to know if this meant she got song writing credit. He said that as far as he knew that part of it was still not settled. "So evidently she got money, but so far no credit"

I was so psyched, I can't even remember what the other questions were..

He was supposedly also only signing his name in the books by that time, but mine, he did write a little something...

Also when we came out to go to dinner. Roger Waters comes walking up the block.. I only had one shot left on my camera.. lets hope it comes out. But I got him to stop and talk and he posed for some pictures for my friends also. He read what Nick wrote in my book... which made him laugh..

Overall it was a really great night!!!

yeah that's nice! I had a very similar experience with Rick Wakeman, so I know such an event totally elevates you, and leaves you on a pink cloud for weeks!Big smile

That's excellent 3F. Yet again hugs abound and fun is to be had whenever you hove into view.

I bet they "Wish you were here" too!

But yeah that's pretty awesome.

Speaking of meeting prog stars, me and my friend Mark (the guitar player in my band) are gonna go up to halifax on the 13th to see tony levin give a bass clinic at musicstop! I'm gonna get him to sign my peter gabriel growing up live dvd, my king crimson neal and jack and me dvd, and my bass.

However, you have had an awesome experience.

Is the book good? I might have to buy that. Did Nick write it cos he is the only member who has been on every floyd album and therefore would have the most experience of the whole bands career?

Nick wrote it because he had kept all these journals over the years and wanted to share.  He says that he gave the book to Dave, Rick and Roger and asked them to add anything they wanted...
