I basically love all of the album, only Your Own Special Way a bit less.

But If had to chose, it's 11th Earl. KILLER intro, Great speed-up track, and it's flows very nice. But close second is One for the vine, Afterglow and In That Quiet Earth is a classic too. (excellent melodies and THAT tempo-change!!)

Great album, but "One for the vine" sits head and shoulders above the others.

"Unquiet slumbers..", "..Quiet earth" and "Afterglow" should perhaps be considered to be one track (in three sections), I'd never listen to just one of those three on its own (except on "Seconds out" of course!).

An enormously difficult choice.  Such a strong album.  Too easy to vote for Vine.  And though 11th Earl is powerful, there is something about "Mouse" that just sends me: not only is it a great song, it is so amazingly clever that it "tickles" me every time I hear it.

What a choice!

I'm sorry, I made a mistake. I wanted to vote on '...In that Quiet Earth', but I marked upon 'Unquiet Slumbers'. 'In that Quiet Earth' is my favourite because of its eerie magic and the solid interplay among the musicians, keeping it subtle and elegant, yet not hiding its energy.

One for the Vine is my Choice, a song that sounds as a very late sequel for The Knife, of course this is probably casual, but The Knife tells the point of view from a revolutionary leader and One for the Vine is the other face of the coin, the point of view of a disenchanted follower narrated by a third person.

The drumming at the explosive instrumental section is one of the most complex I ever heard, if you pay close attention you'll find Phil Collins doesn't repeat exactly any sequence, he changes at least one beat. When I tried to play his part in my house thought there were some mistakes, but it was really good old Phil improvising even in a studio album. This combined with the powerful keyboards make of this track my favorite from the 4 men era.

A weird (for some) choice: I go for Blood on the Rooftops. And an astonishing confession: it's maybe my all time favourite Genesis track. It's difficult to explain but the tone, the mood of the song is something very special for me. It's like... memories and longings for a childhood I never lived. It's weird, since it's about memories of an english setting, but I just don't know... Maybe it's because I was raised next to Gibraltar, in the south of Spain, and my trips there were, in front of my childish eyes, like going to someplace else, to something magic... It may seem stupid but... oh, forget it. I feel like Eric Idle the waiter at the end of The Meaning of Life.

Blood On The Rooftops.Always been a favourite of mine from any Genesis album.

I've seen both Steve HAckett and a Genesis tribute band (G2) do this live recently.Both times superbly performed.

One For The Vine is easily the best tune on the album and on e of the best genesis song s of all time. Up there with suppers ready and dancing with the moonlit knight.

I love the classical guitar in "Blood on the Rooftops". The entire song emits a wonderful mood.

"Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers..." also puts the listener in a fine mood, often a sleepy one. (I sometimes put that track on while I'm going to bed and I picture the cover art in my mind while my eyes are closed). It works, if there are any insomniacs out there (I know I can be).
