My choice would be your 2nd choice. If Banco's 750.000 anni fa...L'amore? ain't a beautiful [progressive] love song then what is? At least I haven't heard a better one yet.

Who We Are- Camel (one of the most beautiful songs ever written in my opinion- the keyboards and vocals are particularly nice)

This Side Of The Looking Glass- Peter Hammill ( a heart wrenching song this- the orchestrations and Peter's fragile vocal really work wonderfully well)

Lady Fucshia- The Strawbs (One of the finest Strawbs songs of all)

Firefly- Uriah Heep (some heavenly music here; the vocals are Heep at their best, and the keyboards are lovely)

Neil Young - Cortez the Killer. Probably not a love song per se, but so incredible melancholic and beautiful.
