The overexposure of Kenny G during the last 80's made me hate sax. But it certainly gives a special atmosphere, for example in DSOTM. On the other hand,  flute is the core of my preferred band, Tull, in consecuence I love it.

TRUE!!...the flute is also formidably used in the two first albums...ear the magic epic piece called megaherz on their first! 

Organisation (Schneider & Hutter original band) also contains a few flute parts to sustain the jam sessions.

listen pampered menial of pavlovs dog and you will find beatiful sounds not only of flute but violin also (eg. the very first track Juliet)
