Topic: Crazyest/Most far out song you’ve heard Posted: July 26 2005 at 19:31 |
I recently hear some music a band called SPHYNx and it was some pretty
err...intresting stuff, now after a few listens I quite like it.
Now this brings me onto the main subject, what is the most
far-out/crazy/mad/wierd/mind-boggoling/any euphemism for crazy
band/song you have ever heard.
Im not talking about spaced-out-pink-floyd carzy, im talking about out
your mind on acid with a drummer whos pissed off his tits and a deaf
triangle player crazy.

I think Brainticket's album Cottonwoodhill is absolutely CrAzY! At first the album seems like a pretty normal although excellent album but then it takes you on this trippy, psychedelic, freaky, hypnotic and amazingly mindblowing journey!
Check it out!

Probably Squarepusher... mind you I was in a somewhat altered state when I listened to that, and maybe the most altered state I've ever been in listening to music, and I've never heard it sober...

Hmm I shall look into those albums then.
Being in a mind altered state would probly make it sound alot more intresting

Funny you brought this up, I just listened to Zappa's Lumpy Gravy and
nearly went insane! His early, non-fusion stuff is just way too far out
for my liking and that album easily proves that point.

anyone who's ever hear Ummagumma:
"Several Small Speciest of Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict"
the name is just as screwed up as the song.

well i have heard some crazy stuff but if your talken prog then the weirdest album which is a song would have to be Amarok but its not that crazy, but a little. but although it is crazy its one of the best albums ive heard.

Downloaded the song here by the Mars Volta (Eriatarka) to check out what they are like. The first two runs through the chorus are INSANE! A transcriber's nightmare. Sounds like the vocalist is singing in 4/4, but damned if I know what the music is doing. I do like the song though, very different....

Velvet Underground's Murder Mystery is one that stands out ...
|
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”
"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

Some early works of FRANK ZAPPA, and AMON DÜÜL II's "Phallus Dei" has some very insane and good parts in it.
I always start to laugh out loud, when there's some unsuspected bellowings and shrieks in music. F.ex. ZAPPA's "Tengo Na Minchia Tanta" from "Uncle Meat" has a very good aural missile within it.
