I surprised but the site search doesn't flag this up. Those who watch the very entertaining Top Gear (not to be confused with the show once run by John Peel on BBC Radio 1, in the days when he didn't think prog 'was bollock, always absolute bollocks') on BBC 2 Sunday nights, get to see Stig hurling the latest piece of expensive motoring hardware around a course. This season's ries features an accompanying prog rock piece - Focus a few weeks ago and last night the atypical Theme One by Van De Graaf Generator.
And least I should forget.
The show is doing a poll on the nation's favourite drive music track. Last night they got round to Queen, and called them a 'Glam Rock' band; some people have memories as long as mine.

Jeremy Clarkson is a bit of a 70s rock fan. Nice to see him get "Won't Get Fooled Again" onto Top Of The Pops last week. Also called McFly "M.C. Fly". Nice one.

It was great, wasn't it? Clarkson is well worth the licence fee, and I hope he presents TOTP again in the future!

Yep, last week, the Stig also played Greenslade: 'Bedside Manners are Extra', and this week we had some Camel as well as the VDGG, as he tested two cars...marvellous...

Yeah, Clarkson is a bit of a prog rock fan- I believe he wrote the sleevenotes to Caravan's 'All Over You' album...

He was playing Camel this week. A few seconds of the Snow Goose. It wasn't very appropriate music for speeding round the track. I think he just likes to get a bit of prog in wherever he can..
..and why not, I say!
