Red is an amazing song, but I felt that it was overrepresented when it
comes to people mentioning "metal" KC songs. If I was to put it
in there... I'd probably use a version from the double-trio era.

That was a tough one to leave out. I really like the version from the 2000 show on Eyes Wide Open, Fripp goes OFF on that piano patch... |

I'm sure it's because it's a play on the initials of King Crimson's first album, In The Court Of The Crimson King: ITCOTCK. I thought it was funny, and the title is very metal. LOL |

Thanks for all the compliments, guys!
I tried to include an eclectic mix, geared towards fans of intelligent
metal but still representing other sides of teh Crim...
I chose to include Elektrik instead, which I feel is a modern look at Fracture, and more subtle than FraKctured. |

How's about an ITCHYCOCK part II? There's even more songs metalheads can get into. Plus you call it ITCHYCOCKANDBALLS.

That list is good but it is missing one of Their heaviest songs, “RED” You could Also put in “Another Red nightmare” in Too its pretty loud. |

Fantastic! I'm always sneaking a little KC into my metal radio shows, and it fits in perfectly, despite not being metal at all. It's really amazing how they pack so many metal elements into their music yet still keep it pure experimental symphonic prog.

I call it Itchycock too..., but I picked that phrase up from these archives.
MO, any chance of reposting this compilation anywhere, I'd love to hear it, I'm only familar with '70s KC (and ITCOTCK from '69 of course)? Sounds interesting indeed. |
