Ps Doumbeks (above) have a trip out in this one. It's more tribal percussion based. I think I'd be happier being a shaman or witchdoctor or something. Jump about around a fire with a big drum for three days, have a vision, then a big barbecue. Sounds fine to me. ;-)

Ah yes, I looked a bit more into it and thought, er, no. ;-)))))))

Preview of the next album !! On pre-release at the moment but coming out in early 2015, when the stars are aligned......

20-25 minute "tribal sounding" title track, extended version of "Set the controls for the heart of the sun" and some vintage sounding psychedelia as well. ;-)

^ even though it is kit-form I don't expect it would have been easy or straight forward to build. In my experience (I'm an electronics engineer by profession and over the years I have experimented with building various bits of modular synths but never the whole kit and kaboodle), these end up costing as much as a ready-made and never look as good or perform as well.
What?

I stopped considering it. I'm not that sad. ;-)

Doum doum tek ka tek, doum tek ka tek / doum doum tek ka tek, doum tek ka doum doum ..... repeat until neighbours complain, Police arrive, taken off to cells, equipment impounded. ;-)

Really glad you like it ! ;-)

These are the doumbeks I was talking about..... one 12" and one 8". Note the sax stands (got lots of them) and bottle of gin. ;-) Anyway, with any luck these will make an appearance on the next track, David. The problem is that they've got goat skin heads, so those have to be replaced, and my percussion skills are "very average", thank God for recording, eh ? ;-)

Actually, now you say "Persian Carpet Voyage", I did a track called "The Golden Voyage to Samarkand" which is on the Bandcamp page. It was based around the music in an old 1994 computer game - "Magic Carpet" by Bullfrog. You've got me thinking, why not do a track called "Magic Carpet Ride" ? - obviously not like the Steppenwolf version....... ;-)

Offer closed now - no takers !!!!!

Hi again Dave
I played your album last night, must've been 3 in the morning actually. I was out walking, trying to clear my head of a paper I've been toiling with the past couple of weeks. I guess my brain was still cracking numbers... Anyway, it was a wonderful little stroll, and that huge main piece just drifted by me like some bubbling Persian carpet voyage. Just epic.
It's a little sad that there has been no takers in your free collaboration thread - I'd love to hear that!
PA have tried before with a band called Russian Teacakes. I'm not really sure what happened with that.

Have you ever thought about including something like Indian tablas in your sound. Not necessarily played like a Bollywood movie but slow and pensive, maybe with some belching tabla booms from the bass drum - you know the one that has the same effect as a tangible water droplet, if that makes any sorta sense. I don't read music.

I strongly echo these sentiments. Folks with a penchant for early TD, although handed over to the listener as something wholly original, should definitely take a chance with this thingClap
I am completely smitten by this album. Thanks a bunch Dave!

PS I do supply artwork on the download, by the way. ;-)
Part of the fun of being in a band nowadays is that you get to (figuratively) make all your own dresses. ;-)
