Sweet Smoke's Darkness to Light is a good album with sitar all over it.
I think Oregon is on PA; if not, Oregon and Colin Walcott are highly recommended. Is Amanda Shankar on PA? Great database we have here, but, man, it has really grown over the years. Can't keep up!

oh I missed Gerinski's video reference. I had seen that video performer. Great performance by the whole band at that Progfest. I really enjoyed the trilogy of comeback albums but have not given the latest one (lacking Aldo) much chance.

^Yeahh Madre Mia is amazing too, well recalled by Gerinski on this thread with that superb YouTube video. In my opinion Il Fiume is an album a bit underrated, fairly a bunch of great moments there.

Le Orme - La Ruota Del Cielo (album L'infinito): I've been thinking this piece couldn't miss here, under any circumstances, for having the best sitar intro followed by such an amazing sitar melody! By the way Greinski is damn right, Le Orme's Aldo Tagliapietra DO play the real sitar !!

By "SITAR" do you mean an actual sitar or just something that sounds like a sitar?...

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Hey Tony! I think you might be right about Fingertips. I do remember dulcimer on it. And definitely excellent sitar on "The Shepherd's Song", one of their first tracks with mellotron and moog. It seems to me that there was a song called "Angels" on the first Hudson Ford album that was sitar-rich. There may have been others. I don't think Hud played any sitar on either the "Don't Say Goodbye" or "Ringing Down the Years" STRAWBS albums in which he played in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
