50p for Yes' 'Going for the One' in a bargain bin many, many, many moons ago

The best purchase ever, it was the start of a 25-year relationship with that wonderful music

The best deal on any music I've ever had was a great contition vinyl copy of ELP's Welcome Back My Friends for 50 cents (I love thrift stores).

Also, the last time I was in my local used vinyl shop, the guy was trying to get rid of classical box sets to make room and said I could take all I could carry for $10. I didn't have the money, but if I did I might have considered it.

I've never found any GREAT deals, but all of Rush's remastered albums are a little less than 15 (CAN), including tax.

also, I found a used copy of Marillion's "Brave" (in good condition) for 9$ (CAN) (didn't have 9$, though )

but I'd say the best deal I ever had was when I bought a Special Edition Office Of Strategic Influence album NEW for only 45$!!! I know that I was ripped off...
Who you gonna call?

I got Mike Keneally - Nonkertompf for €12, currently it's priced around €40. And just recently I bought Ron Thal - Hermit on Ebay for €6, and it's normally priced around €100.

I buy vinyl too - mostly I can pick up prog albums for £1. The best deal I ever had was a first pressing of "Saucerful of Secrets" for £20. It typically goes on eBay for £100-500.

Close second is a copy of Glastonbury Fayre, with all the booklets and the plastic sleeve. Again, this tends to go for around £500, but I got it for £40.

Most of my prog I buy these days is on vinyl, which you can get for usually $1 to $5.  It's a great (and legal) way to vastly expand your collection with very little cash.  Yesterday, for instance I paid $8 for 5 LP's.

What's the best value you've ever gotten for a prog cd?

For me it would need to be The Muffins' Manna/Mirage, the american Canterbury/RIO classic which I bought at a Newbury Comics in North Attleboro Massachusetts for TWO DOLLARS AND 99 CENTS!!!

For the benefit of our non-american friends, most cds I buy are between 9.99 and 17.99
