^ haha. That makes me think of when Micheal Bolton in the 'Office Space' movie takes a bat to the photocopier machine and that funky-gangster rap is playing while Bolton and crew destroy it. Lol

I 've got a solution. Go out to your local shooting range and take your computer skeet shooting. Boom !!! problem solved.

Try what I said before for reading your dump files, that may give a clue to what is causing the crashes

Had another blue screen about 30 minutes ago.....it only stays on screen for a few seconds then it automatically restarts my computer so I can't get a good read on what it says.
Is there anyway to access the system somewhere that has a log of that image..?

I haven't had any more problems since the original blue screens a few days back.....but I will use your recommendation if needed. Not sure why it happened but I've been told by many that IE and MS in general have these problems all the time. My lap top will be 3 years old this winter.

About my system restore not working, I later realised that one of things I did when first trying to fix the problem was to free up HD space by disk cleanup, and one of the optional tasks is clearing all restore points except for the last one. I'm not totally sure but it could be that I ran that option as well and that's why system restore didn't work. I don't know, the problem seems fixed so I didn't dare to try restore anymore.

Of course before uninstalling or deleting anything make a restore point and search a bit to make sure that it's something that you can delete without harm
If we don't hear anymore from Dr Wu maybe he crashed completely his computer by following my advice Edited by Gerinski - July 17 2013 at 04:56 |

Go to the link I posted and download the BlueScreenView program (it's free). When you start it it will scan you system and show you the dump files you have (.dmp). Click on the newest one and 'properties', it will tell you what caused the crash (at least for me it was very clear, it said crash was due to driver stdriver32.sys) and the software related to that driver (in my case it was an audio recorder). Then unistall the software and delete the driver from your HD, reboot and hopefully that will solve your problem, at least it did for me. Another useful utility is this Autorun which shows which processes are automatically loaded when you start up your computer, when you open it it will scan the autorun processes, then in the 'drivers' tab you can make sure that the conflicting driver (if that was the problem) is not active. Hope you can fix it with this help.

I've been getting the dreaded blue screen error message on and off the last few days also and I use IE......it says an error is causing a crash scenario and then restarts my computer.....it seems fine after that and I have run MacAfee and general windows check and it says there are no problems.
It seems to happen only when I'm using Prog Archives and hasn't happened on other web sites...yet.

Glad you solved it. Figured it was a driver problem, that was what most people getting this error encountered.

I think I fixed it
I found a great small application for reading the dump files (saving you from the nightmare which is the official MS debugging process) http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/BlueScreenView.shtml and the dump file showed that there was a conflict with a driver used by a program I rarely use. Uninstalled the program and driver, reboot, and so far it didn't crash again.

The Error Code is a general "I give up" code, basically it's saying Windows doesn't know what to do.
Those two temp files are part of the MS data collection that gets sent with the report if you click the butto, they are not the cause of the problem.
If a restore point cannot be restored then I suspect a virus, possibly a root kit - the only safe way of recovering from a root kit is to reinstall the OS.
