Tons of bonus material my friend. 17 bonus tracks and three documentaries with character profiles (Stig videos) for each.
Its a real beauty, but yes it's price tag is weighty. Kind of like these Pink Floyd anniversary and immersion edition albums.

Sadly I am having to consider putting the brakes on my music spending. So many great recommendations from PA members like yourself that my bank account just can't cope.

Oh my god I know. Richard it's a big expense. Last year I spent thousands on music related purchases, but 2013 was just such an exceptional year in music for me, especially for Prog.
I got quite a few on my list this year, but rent and food are taking over.

My friend. I think starting with with studio version is a very nice start and far less intimidating.
If you and up loving the Studio version you'll have no choice but to upgrade to the live boxsets.

If love Pendragon you'll get Scott Hignam on drums and that is the only similarity or connection you find to Pendragon unfortunately for ya.

And Clive Nolan

Well that's a given.

Yes. Absolutely that is the one.

Mr. Milosh was really on his game with glaring, eye-popping vocals. Very unique voice and I have a lot of admiration for his vocal power. I was a big fan of Rob Sowden and having him leave made me very worried about Arena's future...not any more.

Yeah, I think I read some guy called Nolan plays tambourine on one track or something??

I almost forgot. The album is sensationally mixed in a lavish 5.1 audio surround.

I can't tell you how many times I've brought down the house cranking the living daylights out of this album. Alchemy was my number 3 album of the ridiculously amazing 2013 Prog releases.

I'm think now that if people really adore Clive Nolan's work, definitely get THE RAPTURE by Arena.
It's another great live album and a beautiful companion to follow after Alchemy.
I think most Arena fans hear will be surprised just how Paul Manzi can sing.
He is also a character (Milosh) in Alchemy as well. :)

Enjoy guys.

If love Pendragon you'll get Scott Hignam on drums and that is the only similarity or connection you find to Pendragon unfortunately for ya. This album is very very different. It's basically les miserables, phantom of the Opera with a slight kick of Neo symphonic tendencies (Aryeon) It's a rock opera and their is really not much like it.
I think Alchemy is an album you'll either love or hate. No in between.
I can really understand how this album can't be everyone's cup of tea but if you love broadway musicals and Aryeon's multi-tier vocal collaborations this album is gonna be for you.
I hope you'll get something out of it, but don't go poring your hard earned cash to this box set just yet.
Definitely go with studio first.

Catch ya later mr. RAJAZ. :)

Well, this one also doubles as a theatrical stage musical, Sagi, which I was quite worried about - who knew I would love it so much! Turned out it was my numbero uno disc of 2013! Very addictive, and quite simply the greatest thing Clive Nolan has ever been involved with, and I adore Pendragon (and much of Arena) as well!

I said the Alchemy Box Set shall be mine and it has become just that.
Gave it a 5 in my review for it. Andy Sears was certainly a highlight for me watching Alchemy Live.
He killed it as the ruthless Lord Henry Jagman and I've bit heard too many rock opera performances than Sears's vocal delivery in the track THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS. Wow.

Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Arena, Strangers on A Train) returns in September with a DVD featuring a live version of his most ambitious solo project to date – the rock musical “Alchemy”. Today you can see another preview of the DVD. “Street Fight” is available on Metal Mind Productions’ YouTube channel in THIS location.

Brought to life by a host of artists well known on the prog-rock scene, “Alchemy” is a Victorian adventure set in 1842, with a sense of the dark and mysterious. The musical sees the return of many actors known from the Caamora Theatre Company’s previous productions of “She” – Clive Nolan, Agnieszka Świta, David Clifford, Victoria Bolley, Chris Lewis and Soheila Clifford – aided by such remarkable singers as Tracy Hitchings (Strangers on a Train, Landmarq), Andy Sears (Twelfth Night), Paul Manzi (Arena, Oliver Wakeman Band), and Damian Wilson (Threshold, Headspace). With an excellent line-up of musicians, including Mark Westwood (guitars), Scott Higham (drums), Claudio Momberg (piano), Kylan Amos (bass), and of course Clive Nolan himself, the show provides an outstanding musical experience for all fans of well-written and perfectly performed ambitious prog music.

Live version of “Alchemy” will be available as a DVD and also in a special edition 2DVD+3CD box which includes live DVD, two CDs with an audio version of the show, a bonus DVD with a number of features providing deeper insight into what the project is all about, as also a bonus CD featuring exclusive demos, alternative versions of the songs and more!

The DVD recorded in February in Wyspiański Theater (Katowice, Poland), is enriched by a number of additional features, such as interviews with Clive Nolan, Agnieszka Świta, David Clifford, Scott Higham, and Mark Westwood, as also “The Making of Alchemy” material.

The release date of the DVD and 2DVD+3CD Box is scheduled for September, 23rd in Poland, September, 30th in Europe and October, 1st in USA (via MVD).

^ omg...it shall be mine...oh yes....it shall be mine. ;)

I cannot be more happy with what this edition entails and I'm glad for those who bought the album like myself don't have to re purchase it due to the CDs being live versions. ;)

Good grief this edition is perfect! I know I'll love it. Thanks for the update
