Mellow records for publishing most of the italian prog bands.

Sonhos & Sons for having allowed Sagrado Coraçao Da Terra to release some of the best symphonic prog of the last 20 years.

thanks for your answers guys...today I think that independant & small labels success to raise from the dead many obscure prog bands...I think of Spalax, garden of delights, Cleopatra (hypnotic section), Captain trip and many others.

Yes, Spalax (a french label, isn't it ?) have reissued some forgotten albums, among which Kenso's "Yume no oka".

It's interesting how the generally accepted definition of prog has changed over the years, as you say Dick, The Groundhogs and Canned Heat were considered progressive at that time. I wasn't a great fan of the Groundhogs, but "Split" was a classic, "Cherry Red" and all that!

Interesting that you were talking to TMcP, I often wonder how many "stars" of the 70's I've passed in the street, and not recognised. When you see Dave Gilmour these days, he looks like a retired bank manager, not the long haired, bearded rock musician of "Meddle".

CCR were a great band, I still play "Ramble tamble" from the same album "Cosmo's factory" on regular occasions (weddings, parties, anything!).

Weren't Man on Liberty???????? Yep Canned Heat for sure (but their first two album were the first I saw in the 'progressive music' section in record shops in the UK - i.e. electric blues was then progressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). And there was a lot of other blues - Groundhogs (then, their Split was categorised as "progressive music" - octave splitters, fuzz boxes etc etc. - and I'm pleased to say I got to speak with Tony McPhee 10 days ago and I was amazed to discover he's shorter than me - I thought all rock stars were tall LOL ), Alexis Korner (+ lots blues back catalogue) and I've just remembered Bonzo Dog Do Dah Band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[I too confess to having a Fifth Dimension album - their record of Jim Webb and "Hair" covers (Title?), which always got played at parties in the 60's - but CCR's version of "Grapevine" and Rare Earth's (what happened to them?) "Get Ready" came out too......................]

And I couldn't remember the short lived label which spun off from Deram and in fact Igginbottoms Wrench was signed to that - was it Nova??????.

But InsideOut features the Flower Kings, Spocks Beard, Transatlantic, IQ, Steve Hackett, Steve Howe, Pallas and many more Prog that doesn't fit into the Prog Metal genre

... and don't forget CUNEIFORM, with its penchant for jazzy and/or avant-garde dissonant and/or RIO and/or psychodelic bands. One of their most featured merits was the reburbishment of KANSAS Mk. II, now PROTO-KAW.

I think InsideOut is the leading prog-label this times...and they feature exclusively prog (OK I don't count Rhapsody as prog so they're one exception...) and promote it very well...
