I think it's funny how Hammill writes 'soapballs taste like marzipan'

I only have the Italian version so can't confirm if the song titles and sequence in English are the correct ones for the English version, but my Italian is pretty good and if they are correct I can just say that Hamill made a bit of a mess, it's not just that they don't translate directly from the Italian ones which is quite understandable, but he mixed them, indeed 'Return to Naught' (apparently track 8 in the English version) would translate as 'Ritorno al Nulla' which is track 9 in the Italian version, or 'The Balance' (track 7 in English) translates as 'L'Equilibrio' (track 4 in Italian).

English lyrics were written by Peter Hamill, his task was not to make a literal translation. He had the plot, but there was a space for his fantasy. That's why tracks' titles in English don't repeat Italian names. You can find Italian and English lyrics (on the web or in the booklet of this edition: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=33435) and see similarities and differences. I can say it's quite interesting.

^ Trust me, I've come up with a whole number of single keywords and used the "older/newer than 6 months" drop-down list, been roaming those pages of locked and unlocked threads, and haven't come up with jack.
EDIT: OK, now I have the linked page bookmarked. Edited by Dayvenkirq - February 07 2013 at 11:42 |

All the English text appears to correspond to tracks on the English-language version of the album. Redundant on the Italian-language album page imo. My Italian version of the album doesn't have any English text.
Edit: Here's the English version for comparison:
It looks as if the Italian version was edited to include the corresponding English tracks by a member of the E&O Team, not sure why. Edited by seventhsojourn - February 07 2013 at 04:29 |
