Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Space Opera is a band from Texas that recorded an album back in the early '70's and another one or two in the 90's. Thats all I know. I just stumbled upon them while trying to hunt up some prog. Does anyone know anything about this band (nothing came up when I searched here)? One might call it sophisticated country rock or folk rock. Some songs are prog to my ears. Check out "Holy River", "Over and Over", "Who's Calling", "Vieux Carre", O.R.C and "My Telehpne Artist" from the albums Space Opera and Space Opera II.  Also, Guitar Suite is a 7 minute instrumental. These songs are all at Spotify.

Here is a link to some info:

http://www.itsaboutmusic.com/spaceopera.html

where the band's music is described as an "inspired blend of Frank Zappa, Steely Dan, The Byrds and The Band." Myself, I don't hear that much Zappa and not too much Steely Dan either, but thats no matter :)

Still, I like it a lot...I just faved "Holy River", My Telephone Artist" and "Over and Over" and stuck them in my prog playlist..
Theres a lot of nifty 12 string guitar work and vocal harmonizing a la "The Byrds."
