I've wanted to address the cadre of artists from the Frequency Thirteen label for some time now. F13 is based out of Sheffield in the UK, and specialises in "True Sheffield Black Psychedelia," a label of their own making which describes their bands' idiosyncratic mix of black metal, noise, dark ambient & krautrock. It's an incestuous scene, but each group has a distinct sense of individuality while operating under the common TSBP banner.
Ice Bound Majesty, one of the older bands in the roster, is to my ears an excellent candidate for Experimental/Post-Metal. Built on a foundation of black metal, they use the template to delve into noisy, doomy territory with occasional nods to krautrock. They released a succinct yet stunning EP years ago called "A Tomb to Erect," and followed it up about a year and a half ago with their first full-length, "How Can We Live in a Kingdom and Never See the Throne?"
