Meh. I'll pass and spend my $$ on a Wilson remastering of the better Tull epic; provided he makes good on the offer (as quoted to Rolling Stone by Ian Anderson).

Big problems with the TAAB 40th anniversary DVD 5.1 disc on early pressings. See Tull website press release below.
STOP PRESS: AUDIO GLITICHES ON TAAB 40th Special Edition DVD

We have been alerted to the fact that there are three small audio glitches on the 5.1 streams on the DVD part of the Thick As A Brick Special Edition CD/DVD set. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Any new stock going into stores will be amended & for fans who’ve already purchased the set we will be making available a replacement DVD disc for you. More information to follow shortly. This occurred in the very final stage of mastering prior to manufacture of the commercial run of product and was not noticed until attentive early purchasers spotted the digital errors.

With our apologies.

EMI Music, Ian Anderson and Steven Wilson.

Haven't played mine yet but I bought it from the US so not looking good for an exchange.

Damn!

Think I'm gonna put my $$ towards the Dark SIDE OF THE MOON immersion box set. $125 clams for that sucker. It's nice though. 5.1 remix by Alan Parsons called spooky mix. Lol. I'm in like sin!!!

Just received both the 40th Anniversary deluxe edition with 2102 remaster CD and DVD 5.1 edition as well as the vinyl box set of TAAB1 and 2.

Stupid thing is: I don't possess a 5.1 system nor a turntable!

Has anyone listened to the DVD of TAAB1 yet? I would love to hear it. Please report.

This sounds good, but what I would really like is a DVD of the current concerts with any film from 72 of TAAB.

Count me stoked.  I've been waiting for this baby to come out.  Supposed to be the same with A Passion Play at some point, I thought I heard somewhere.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I'm always game for a good remaster, but for my personal taste that would be a strong reason not to get this.

Can't wait.
If you can only buy one version of this great album you might as well buy the best.

No, the DVD is 5.1.
No to your second question.
From BurningShed, it is $35 shipped to the US but I'm guessing the retail price will be around $30, that's pretty good for a 104 page hardback book and the CD/DVD.

Wait, the cd is 5.1 as well? Will you be able to get the cd without the dvd? Getting the cd/dvd package with the book might be expensive.

Well of course, you have Steven Wilson's re-mixing into 5.1 of Jethro Tull Aqualung???

It is beyond belief good.  Sounds like that record was recorded in 2012 NOT 1971.

I am positive Thick As A Brick will be a stunner as well.  I can't wait.

I am currently enjoying the new SW ELP 5.1 mixes, more than should be legal.   What a treasure
of a remixing into surround!

I like how Steven Wilson is envolved in remastering album classics. He's done so well it. Loved his work on the king crimson albums, especially IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING.
