Some bands i really enjoy: Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Van Der Graaf Generator, Opeth, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, Camel, Jethro Tull, Rush, Porcupine Tree, ELP, Gentle Giant, Tool
I also like Jazz fusion like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Weather Report, Jean Luc Ponty and Al Di Meola |
Welcome!
I might have a few bands up my sleeve to suggest...
Riverside Kansas (you probably know them, though) Dream Theater (ditto) Epignosis Echolyn The Mars Volta (if you like a little chaos in your music. If not, you'd still probably like Octahedron) Iona |
As for Dream Theater, they were actually my introduction to Prog, but lately i have kinda lost interest in them. I have tried some Mars Volta before but i didn't really like them. I know of most of the others but i'll check them a little more.

This is true. The Finnish and Estonian languages are apart of the same family. I think of Scandinavia as Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. I never felt Finland were apart these countries. |
Crap. My English misled me again, The impression "Nordic countries" didn't even come to my mind Oh well, I never liked any of your countries anyway
Just kidding, of course But there is a big minority of Swedish speaking people here in Finland, too, so I think at least Ahvenanmaa (or Åland, or whatever it's called in English) could be considered a part of Scandinavia.

^And it gives a total of 36 albums for 2011. That sounds more like the numbers I anticipated.

When I set Minimum Number of Ratings to 1 I get 7 albums. That can't be right, can it? Would've thought there were more than 7 Symph Prog albums released halfway through any given year. That said, 2011 gives a total of 20 Symph Prog albums, so 7 might just be correct as 2012 isn't more than just halfway through yet.

When i'm gonna search in the "top prog rock music albums list" and i click on symph prog and 2012 it only comes like 3 albums, is there really only 3 symph albums this year?

I recommend to you three American groups who only released one album, in the 70's Yezda Urfa Cathedral Hands
These bands were all heavily influenced by Yes, Gentle Giant, King Crimson etc. You should really give the a listen if you already haven't.
