Topic: HC vr. Prog metal Posted: October 12 2005 at 23:33 |
Amazing hardcore band = Clutch
well... not really hardcore, but they have elements of hardcore.
not much screaming, but Black Flag style vocals, with amazing lyrics
and funky riffs. These guys have been one of my favorite bands
for a long time.

IMHO no HC band is better than DT nor LTE. Still I´d rather listen to CP like PF with WYWH and AHM. Or KC with ITCOTCK.....Now, ....WTF have I just written ???

What I don't like about the HC bands I hear is the constant screaming and double bass.

Erm... Mathcore.. metalcore.. THEY ARE NOISE!!!!! (AT least they fit into the noise subgenre idealy)...
Although not sure what mathcore would be... (Examples please?) but comparing DEP 2 bands like Killswitch or Biohazard (metalcore & HC).. Well, NOTHING in common...

To be serious, the reasons for my posts was to jest at the fact that there are so many labels. What's the point? As my friend once said, "There are two types of music. Everything I like is good, and everything else is sh*t."

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

^ Maybe DEP aren't metalcore. If anything, they're mathcore. But why not simply call them Prog Metal?
BTW: They're not ***core just because their singer is screaming.
