I created this poll a few years back that listed a number of progressive rock musicians from Michigan. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=46718&KW=michigan&PN=1 It has been locked, but you might find it of interest. There could be some hunting grounds for new collaborators hidden within.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Scott and I am the founder of a Detroit, Michigan area prog rock band called The Sympathy Orchestra. We are a humble little band, who are trying to do our part to spread the word of prog rock in the local clubs that contain mostly punk, metal or radio cover tunes. We are still very much a work in progress, as we are unfortunately only able to devote ourselves part time to the project. Our hope is to someday compose something of worth and contribute something to the world of prog rock, even if it is on a very small level.
Please check us out at www.thesympathyorchestra.com
If there are any prog musicians in this forum, in the Detroit area, please drop us a line. As with so many bands, there are times when members decide to move on to do different things. We are always on the lookout for musicians who are as passionate about progressive rock as we are.
Thank you for your time,
