Whoa, so it seems. Good, as long as it wasn't fan pressure that made them do it again.

Looking at Opeth's setlists so far thus year. They are playing heavier songs again.

I'm gonna make a weekend out of it, Saskatoon on a Saturday (Mastodon closes) and Winnipeg on a Sunday (Opeth closes). Luckily I have a group of guys that also want to go to both, should be a fun time.
Wow that shall be incredible.

Looking at Opeth's setlist so far this year it looks like they are actually playing some non-mellow tunes.
Which is awesome.

Andthe opening band, Ghost,  is very interesting. They're pretty good too. Check them out.

Indeed

Plus Opeth is around 3 times a year, and Negura Bunget probably has never played here.

Easy decision.

Ah what the heck , I'll go. I just need at least another person to go with. $40 won't hurt. I'll probably spend almost that amount on a stupid shirt at the concert too. :P

Interesting!  I actually skipped the Mastodon show in 2011 because it was "too close" to the Opeth show, which I attended.  If I went to this it would be the first band I've seen three times.  And I did like the Opeth show, but I was also irritated because it seemed like the crowd was talking over the top of the music all too often.  This venue (Filmore in Denver) is much larger than where they were in the fall (Ogden Theater), so maybe that will help.  Or not, because I saw Explosions in the Sky there in September and again was annoyed by all the chatter.

I will take it under advisement.  Smile

That's because Rush is the best band evar.

Closest venue is in Georgia, with Mastodon closing.
That would be a night to remember, and for sure a special show.

I've seen both bands before at smaller venues with much better set-lists than I'll see now. I might not be missing out on much. I will most likely end up going though.

Everyone has said the Harvest concerts are really good if you like prog and aren't going to just headbang.

When I went to see Opeth on the Watershed tour, I was a little disappointed because the mellow pieces were the weakest. And they didn't play Ghost of Perdition.

If they were coming to San Looey I'd be there.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Do I go even though Ghost Reveries is the last Opeth album I liked and The Hunter is kind of mediocre?
