Turn of the Century vs The Rain Song

Yes! Jon sings extremely better than Robert and Yes as a band is really better in composition and as musicians so these songs are not comparable. Yes wins.

Both great songs but have to give the edge to the Rain Song.

The Rain Song is masterfully done. Some of the best chords put to tape. Turn of the Century, I find it too mushy, and over-produced.

Turn Of The Century. If only for the sublime guitar solo.

Turn of the Century...no contest...I really like some Led Zeppelin but prefer their blues-rock and hard rock tracks...

No vote here. I like both songs. Usually I'd vote for Yes piece but Turn Of The Century (although great song) always seemed to me a little bit awkward and under-developed here and there... Don't know why, maybe it's strange rhythm of the song or not to interesting singing in a few places... On the other side there are beautiful/fantastic places in it too...  Rain song is one of my favourite songs from Zeps with mellotron, melancholy feeling... maybe it should be flying Zeppelin today... but no no... no vote definitely.

Also true....in my head I was thinking of an 80s Tull show I was at.  You gonna go for that brew during TAAB or when they announce Lap of Luxury?       (And I actually love Under Wraps but I seem to be in the minority.)

Very true Slart, you always want to leave during a crowd favorite.  Never head to the john after the words "and here's a track from our new album....."

I saw Howe perform an instrumental version of Turn at a tiny solo gig in the early 90s.  It was at First Avenue in Mpls and there were about 100-150 people there, I was literally standing 10 feet away as he played this long and moving version of the song.  One of the highlights of my very long concert-going career. 

He was a very gracious performer, smiling often and seemed a bit shy.  The only moment I cringed was when he did Heat of the Moment and sang it.  That was my moment to head to the beer line.
