A little misleading wasn't it . |
Your leg would probably fall off if you tried to tap all of ITCoTCK.

I'm surprised how well In A Glass House has done here.I figured In The Court... would be battling with Selling England... and Thick As A Brick for the lead.It just shows how popular this album and band is.

^Funny thing is, that I remember the exact same thing about Karl, and for some reason that sentence stuck in my head Same thing about a reviewer called Neu!mann who doesn´t visit the site as much, but he did a review of Captain Beefheart´s Trout Mask Replica, and something about it made him feel like jumping around only in his socks, developing a sudden craving for raw potatoes and forgetting his middle name Priceless! So ever since reading that, every time he´s subjected a review, I´ve had these mad images flying around my head

It´s because we´re out of fashion dude! We suddenly start listening to albums that people are fed up with - due to floods of polls and threads about them. Just the story of my life I guess. I hated The Prodigy back when they made it big with Fat of the Land, and then when the bug had died down and folks were up to their neck in things like Breathe and Firestarter - I started listening to their first 2 albums If you can´t beat them - join them much later when they´ve forgotten about it/ or seriously overdosed on it...
Also, I´ve been listening to the more obscure classics lately - ca one a day just to remember where it all started for me . Like Itoiz - Ezekiel, Bubu - Anabelas, PFM - Per Un Amico, Le Orme - Felona e Sorona, Area - Crac!, Osanna - Palepoli, Delirium - lll, Clearlight - Clearlight Symphony, Gong - You, Klaus Schulze - Timewind, Ash Ra Tempel - S/T, Tangerine Dream - Phaedra, Atlas - Blå Vardag, Embryo - Rocksession, Popol Vuh - Hosianna Mantra, Cressida - first one, Rush - A Farewell to Kings and a load of other sweets. Pretty cool to rekindle your love affairs once in a while. Klaus Schulze has probably been the one artist that I´ve listened to the most, and the more I do - the more I´m convinced about his genius. If I were to rate his 70s output right now - I´d probably give 5 of them the maximum rating. Seems a bit odd seeing, as these albums have been in my possession in and around 9 years, and I have listened to each one of them countless times . Well you know what they say about music that grows on you... Maybe I should start a 5 star review parade

I always remembered something Bonnek(Karl) said some time ago.He mentioned in one of the threads that he listens to Klaus Schulze everyday. That stuck with me because it showed how much he digs the soundscapes.A daily fix if you will. Makes me want to play some Schulze but i don't have any at work here.

I decided to go through the classics again.I did this in the spring too.It kind of puts the whole Prog thing in perspective for me,plus it's amazing music. I agree with you about In The Court... and i'm surprised it didn't do better in this poll.A lot og GG and JT fans out there though.

Philip Glass ? No way,how about the band GLASS. Their Illuminations album is amazing with Hugh Hopper,Phil Miller and Richard Sinclair all helping out on one track each.

Selling England is my favorite overall, but if I were choosing which of those to listen to RIGHT NOW, I'd go with Peter Hammill.

SEBTP is the ultimate prog masterpiece and my favorite on the list. Glass House and ITCOTCK share the second place, both seminal masterpieces as well. ...and so is TAAB but I personally like it a tiny bit less than the top 3. Haven't heard Hammill yet but I'm sure it's a great album. TFK don't have as much as the right to piss on the same acre of land as the other 5.

I had this on at work first thing this morning and this customer says to me "You always have the best music playing in here." I thanked him. I picked Selling England By The Pound just over In The Court...
