Well, I was a bit worried because judging by Amazon reviews, the Z906 appeared to be not as good as the older Z5500. I ended up buying it anyway because it in fact looked better and seemed to make more sense as far as inputs and console were concerned. So far I'm not regretting it at all, and it met my primary expectation when it comes to Logitech audio equipment: It sounds like it's five times as expensive.

Yes, they're not exactly pretty ... they still look like computer speakers. But I don't mind - it's about the sound, not the looks (I leave that to audiophilesWink).

I know modern materials and construction methods have made plastic acceptable for speaker enclosures, it still doesn't look pretty to me. Having said that, my Home Cinema system is plastic too, so it obviously doesn't bother me that much, then I'm looking at the TV, not the speakers.

What?

Hi folks,

I got them yesterday:

I didn't get them from Amazon though - they were on sale at a local store for 274 EUR.

They're replacing a set of Logitech X-530 (around 80 EUR), and so far I can say that they sound really great. I connected them to my computer's analog outputs - but they also have two digital inputs and an extra stereo input, which I'll use for my ESI soundcard output (I use that soundcard to record music). The set also comes with a nice remote control which you can not only use to select inputs and adjust volume, but also to tweak subwoover/rear satellite speaker volume and 3D mode (expand stereo to 5.1, 4.1 or 2.1).

Who would I recommend them to: Well, anyone who is looking for an affordable 5.1 system that offers extraordinary ROI. As far as power is concerned. 500W RMS. Big smile

Any comments?
