Topic: "Queen" vs "Rush" Posted: April 08 2015 at 21:23 |
Rush. Even if it's nothing original, it's very well made.

Really late, but thought I'd vote for Rush anyway.

Two of my favourite bands, two completely different opinions on their debuts: Rush is my least favourite record up to maybe Presto, while Queen is among the ones I like the best from the Brits.

Queen's debut.
I like the debut album by Rush but Queen's debut is amazing to me, much more interesting than Rush's.

Fortunately both bands' material would drastically improve by their second albums. The Rush debut is a good hard rock album but no Neil Peart on board while Queen havetheir line up in place. But both their second releases are is just far more sophisticated and defined. IMHO the Rush debut is probably better as a hard rock album while The Queen one needs either more power or more writing imagination - which happened. The Rush debut is like no other Rush album while the Queen release is the first step in a clear um, procession...

Rush. by a country mile. It's straight up rock, and lacks the edge that Peart brought to the band both lyrically and technically, but equally it's lack of whimsy means it has aged so much better than Queen's debut.

Have'nt heard Queen's debut so I can't really vote but Rush's tunes on the first album are just pretty straighforward, standard rock tunes and are'nt Prog at all, but there great tunes for what they are.

Two of my very favorite bands, although I haven't heard Rush's debut, so I can't vote. I would bet that Queen's is better though, based upon what I've heard about Rush.

Never heard Rush's debut, but I've heard Queen's and I must say, it's an underrated masterpiece.

The Queen debut is much stronger in my opinion.
The Rush debut is fun, but hardly original. The Queen debut is also 'fun' but doesn't really sound like anything that had gone before.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Queen's first album is terrific. Rush's...eehhh...not so much.

The original (and very creepy) cover of THE STEVE HOWE ALBUM...hint...look in the water...

Why you all making the cover art such a big deal |
I guess because I put the art in my OP. I like talking about album covers, so I don't mind, but the ratings are intended for the music.
