Yeah, it's only natural, I guess. Still a shame though...

It would surprise me, at the age of 65, if his vocals were as powerful as in 1972. I wouldn't expect them to be, in the same way as I wouldn't expect an athlete to run as fast as he/she once did.

Yeah, he surprised me a bit actually. Didn't think he was going to be that good. I thought, when I saw them in July, and IA did close to all the vocals, that it would be dissapointing to hear someone else sing JT material, and although he couldn't match IA's '70's voice (but who can, right?), it was fun seeing him do the kind of theatrics IA was known for in his heyday, and with such vigor, although he didn't fully match IA at his best in that department either (but, again, who can?).

I missed IA's voice too, but I think Ryan O'Donnell did a really great job.

Saw them wednesday night. The playing was excellent then too. Just a shame it wasn't matched by the vocals. Neither Ryan O'Donnell (who did a good job, that's gotta be said, he just doesn't have the same power in his voice as IA did in the '70's) nor IA himself complemented the music to the level this masterpiece deserves, and this left the show lacking that little extra that would've made it perfect, IMO.

Just got back from tonight's TAAB show... Simply awesome.. I agree that Ian's voice is not like 1972, but they all played great!

Attended the show in Arendal a week ago. Great show, at least for a JT fan like me, but probably not more than just OK for prog fans in general. Though, if you haven't seen him live before I recommend seeing one of these shows if you have the chance. I don't think you will be disappointed.

In Arendal IA & Co. dished out TAAB and TAAB2 packed in one hour of awesomeness, plus Living in the Past, Beggar's Farm, Bouree, My God, Budapest, Locomotive Breath and parts of Aqualung. IA did most of the vocals, and his voice is, of course, not what it used to be, but still...great fun!

But then again Ian + band = current Tull line-up +/- Martin, maybe the Sturcz Quartet will join them as well.

Martin Barre's web site states he is not involved in the tour.

This has been offcially announced for a while now. I'm suprised this wasn't posted a couple of weeks ago. I was going to post it but I was afraid it might of have been recently posted before. Also I heard theres going to be more dates made after November and December for Canada and USA.

Oh, I didn''t notice you linked to the website Liz. They say all those are Ian Anderson dates... And the list is more complete, so I'll use it to replace the one in the OP.

The Tull TAAB tour dates.

If those are final, Alex might end up with me paying a visit again.
