Don't quit your day job Chris as your career in comedy appears to be a wash out.

post the dryest or wetest joke you can utter without getting powderd or soaked
I start with one i have just invented why did I look at Anthony's Weiner when Fred AStaire's the best i could come up with on the tip on of my tongue, im glad it did'nt fell of... and please keep it civil or ail wear my uniform ![]() this could be interesting What's the difference between 'dry humor' and 'wet humor'?A
dry sense of humor relies upon sarcasm, timing, and wit. A person with a
dry sense of humor tells a story or joke and it is not immediately
obvious if they are joking or serious. They appear to be both funny and
serious at the same time, requiring some work on the part of the
listener. Only a part of the joke is presented and the rest you have to
surmise. The challenge is to "get it" in the way it was intended. Sometimes, it is known by other names like deadpan - a form of comic delivery in which humor is presented without a change in emotion or facial expression, usually speaking in a monotonous manner. Steven Wright is a good example. I thought Adam Mordecai answer to Why do people on Quora have no sense of humor for responses to questions that clearly can never be answered? was hilarious, but suspect some people could have mistaken him as being completely serious. To me, it's a very clever method of delivery. As for wet humor, I can't say that I've heard of that one before (are you making this stuff up?). Edited by aginor - August 19 2011 at 08:53 |
