Thanks for the link. As a huge Tull fan this is exciting news. I'm looking forward to the 40th anniversary cd/dvd pack-should be fun!
Also, having seen Tull live and IA live, there are very big differences in the performances and arrangements of the material. Even though IA writes almost everything, as Pied Piper says, Martin Barre has a big influence on the material that appears on Tull albums. IA solo projects and live tours are very different from Tull albums and performances.

The difference is that a JT album sounds like a BAND's album (please, lend an ear to Songs from the Wood or Thick as a brick), while Anderson's solo releases sounds quite different.
To say nothing of the fact that Martin Barre is often an uncredited co-writer. That's true.

Ian Anderson/ Jethro Tull.....Peter Hammill/ VdGG......are there differences between them? I would say.....absolutely! They are written for different presenters.....Anderson and Hammill solos are not the same as their respective group compositions.....

Does it really need to be said? Oh well, here goes: Every JT album is an IA album. OK moving on along those lines: It's up to IA to decide whether material is better suited for a solo or a band presentation.
Personally I have little difficulty distinguishing the two, although I understand this might be a bit tricky for many . But then again, I've been a JT fanboy for decades.

It sounds like an Ian Solo album, not a Tull album.

It`s the final question from IA : ....This has absolutely nothing to do with Aqualung, but
it’s been over a decade since the last Jethro Tull studio album. Any
chance we’ll get a new Jethro Tull studio album anytime soon?
I do have, currently, a whole album written and prepared, and
in fact scored in Sibelius, one of the music composition programs,
and al the lyrics and arrangements done. I’m looking forward to going
to the studio to record it, but it won’t be until November because
between now and the end of October, we’re pretty much on the road all
the time. I finished writing that in the beginning of April or the
last week of March. I spent a few days with my guitar player and
keyboard player doing the job of consigning it all to written
arrangements. But it’s on ice until we have a recording session with
rehearsals starting at the end of October. We have about six weeks of
studio time booked. So, yeah there will be something next year
coming out around the end of March.
