Topic: Kevin Moore..... Posted: July 02 2005 at 05:08 |
Kevin Moore is the best. And he didn't play just in DT, but in many
other great bands (Fates Warning, Majesty, OSI,...) , just for
information.
And ACOS wasn't made with sherinian, but with Moore. Sherinian just played it.

for those of you bashing derek sherinian, his keyboard work in ACOS and FII is among the coolest keys in all of the DT catalog.

Kevin Moore was pretty cool. I love his stuff with DT, but Chroma Key I find just okay....

True, but I must say Rudess can definitely write some damn good string accompliments

Kevin Moore for his writing
Derek Sherinian, ughh, for his writing and jazzy style
Jordan Rudess for his amazing playing skills
So... Kevin Moore=Jordan Rudess>Derek Sherinian

I made a poll about that question a week ago.
I think that Kevin Moore is the most imaginative and, well, progressive of them. Rudess is the most skillfull, and Sherinian really ROCKS. But still I prefer Moore, and of his albums I prefer Dead Air For Radio.

I think with Kevin Moore we've listened the greatest Dream Theater! He is a great musician, and an even more great composer!!!
I love Chroma Key "Graveyard mountain home" and OSI too!

Sherinian might be a joke in DREAM THEATER, but I liked him in PLANET
X, but I've only listened to "Moonbabies." Well, I like
Rudess. DREAM THEATER did SFAM with him, which I think is their best CD.
DREAM THEATER band members said that Kevin Moore went on to do something different, so I can't see Kevin Moore going back.

Moore was definitely the one who brought melody to the bands song writing.

Ill always miss Kevin Moore's amazing ability and talent that he
brought to DT. He could write and play just the way they needed and it
sounded terrific. Now there seems to be an apparent lack or void
without Moore nowadays.
Sherinian was a joke more or less and Rudess just does the same
rediculous, fast runs for every solo whether it be on piano or synth.
Come back to DT Kevin!

Eh. I've heard his new stuff, Chroma Key, and it's cool, but his
work isn't as good as it was with DT, and it's probably because they
supplied that "fairy dust" that made the songs fit together so
well... just because a guy's credited with writing a song doesn't
mean he was the absolute creator of every single aspect of it.

From my point of view, Kevin Moore is a great musician. This man recorded "Images & Words" and "Awake" with Dream Theater. This man was the author of songs like "Wait for sleep" and "Space-Dye Vest". Unfortunately he left the band....
What do you think about Kevin Moore? Good musician, bad musician...?
