Anyhoo
If anything PR is as close as it gets given the material on thier Tao album but i am not a good one to ask as its not my cuppatea

they just released an EP which is part III of a theme started two records ago. The EP is just one song on one side of an LP and the other side is an etching. If that's not prog, its certainly art, and fully awesome.
I vote to reconsider them :)

Hmmm, I was going to recommend them for Crossover as well. Oh well!

This has been debated countless times with countless times with countless cases. They were rejected. Until they release a new album, they're not eligible for re-evaluation.

The team must have considered the band is not prog.

^^^ Trail Of Dead are not Prog in any case. VDGG are definitely prog and not particularly punk. Trail Of Dead are very punk like. I had their second latest album and honestly it was not prog at all. Not interested in punk junk.

It's a little bit funny to see a post like that from someone who has VdGG in his signature - some flexibility? VdGG themselves meddled with punk, and there's at least one long standing forum member here who would claim that Peter Hammill invented that genre.

which one did you buy? i don´t like punk in general but those are not punk albums I assure you. madonna and source tags and code are really great albums.
These new tao of dead is still growing on me but it seems at level of the century of the self and better than so divided

I'm currently enjoying Tao of the Dead but it's not particularly prog music-wise. It has a prog feel in the CD cover, the long multi-part tracks etc but it's really a collection of post-punk songs joined together to make one long one. I've not heard any of their earlier stuff to comment on.

Strange indeed they would cite those influences, maybe they really want to be on PA? All I get is Sonic Youth with some occasional flares from early 90s Swans.

I think post rock/math rock is more suited (ot even heavy prog) OR EVEN psychadelic prog

They are presently being evaluated by us at crossover.
Honestly, despite the impressive references they cite, I don't hear much prog in the music. Just post-punk.
