Hi,
This is for the list of bad posts that you and I are tired of seeing! After this thread I'm doing the fun thread!
1. Bad Singers
2. James LaBrie
3. Worst Prog
4. Yet Another Rush fan, or Rush is God thread
5. Another Genesis is best thread, or yet another Genesis fan that never heard anything else!
6. Another ELP is Gawd thread, or person that never heard another keyboard player as good or better than Keith! |
Meh, even this has been done to death.

sniping is still verboten however "craftily" disguised.

8. Another wanna be post for adding a new prog category ... post-rap or post-shi$ or something like it! |
Like it or lump it. Music moves on, things change, welcome to the 21st century.
moshkito wrote:
9. Another long post from Mosh (had to be honest here!)
10. Another cry by Mosh that this is more than just music, by people that only buy it at iTunes anyway and don't give a shi$ in the night what the music means, but they are ready to kiss the big 3 gods yet again. |
In your imagination only I fear. You really must give people a lot more credit that you do for how and why they listen to music.
Oh yeah, curcumventing the swear word auto-censor is still verboten.
moshkito wrote:
0. The Godless threads ... is there anyone that can post music for the love of music and not kiss as$? |
Okay, you go first.
Seriously. This jibe is wearing awfully thin. How much do we really need a tiresome essay on the value of music as a cultural, artistic or philosohical navel-gazing diatribe that would be little more than a thinly veiled ego trip for the author and a broken-down vehicle for their re-tread ideas? This is music; This is entertainment; This is Pop; (yeah yeah). It isn't high art that's for sure.
moshkito wrote:
00. The best of course ... yet another soul-less definition of progressive music, by people that refuse to look at art history to understand it better and learn how to define it for what it is! |
In you humble opinion of course. What is really so important about the art history that may or may not have any relationship to the music produced in isolation from those artistic movements, many of which were long past their sell-by-date by that time anyway. Progressive Rock, from whatever era you care to choose, is not an homogenised single entity that can be neatly classified by some trite and well-worn pseudo-musicologist phrases but a mish-mash of a multitude of disparate and completely unrelated sources that have absolutely no relationship with each other in any way whatsoever. The reason that no one can succinctly define progressive rock (which is but a sub set of progressive music) is because such a definition is unrealistic and unrealisable - it is easier to postulate the grand unified theory of everything than it is to produce an accurate definition of Progressive Rock that encompasses a mere 1% of what most people call Progressive Rock.
