Except I can hardly imagine Fripp "doing the lizard" like Simmons does.

I took this poll seriously and I voted KISS. Everyone who visits this site knows that KC are better musicians, better composers and have more interesting music. But...KISS are far more consistent and probably have the greater proportion of good songs(due to having more albums).
Let's face it, KISS was really nothing more than a vehicle for Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley to make lots of $$$ and get lots of p*ssy...and they succeeded immensely. Fripp had his good days and his bad days. KISS have a lot of great catchy rock songs, and this is coming from someone who really does not give a sh*t about KISS at all! |
That alone should make King Crimson the better band.

This is a really weird topic Kiss vs King Crimson of course king crimson is musicaly better than Kiss, Kiss they are the typical American Version of everything Woman, Sex, Drugs, Explosion, And of course Money but Ive seen them live, disapointed with the lack of understanding of this band I would just want to talk to gene and let him know that he is not God and that Kiss is not the greatest band on earth, they did a couple of good albums and hits but very much overated, and for King Crimson I don't even have to say anything where on a prog rock site I mean its KC

They're good, but they failed to include one of the most defining elements in all of Moshkito's posts: The 'prog' vs 'progressive' element.

Hi,
I would say you can't simply... compare these bands... as if they're two medium sized... apartments! Both bands have a very different... style and approach... and beliefs of expression! As for Kiss... they tend to focus too much on their image. They are a popular band... and of course that brings a burden! But you can't judge them... for such a thing! That would... be a disrespectful thing to do... but apparently its a very... common thing in this modern world! I think the creator of this poll... shows his worrisome views here. He tends to think too much... in genres... and loses the monocle to see... music's true beauty! Whether you like a band or not... you should not be subjective... in your discovery of new music. Some people... do so... and end up wrapping themselves... in foil! Like when they grow up... with a blue coloured spine! But at the end of the day... this goes for all forms of art... or all forms of beauty in life actually! If you're then still going on about comparing... and labeling! you forgot... dr. pepper!
If you look outside now... at the sky and the streets even! You will hear... may people say the days are gone... the glory days! But I think... that is only a reflection... of the mentality of people in modern times! That also... is what you find in the coldness... of mass produced music... like britany spears! They are loved... by many people... but would they have been loved... some 40 years ago? I'm not so sure about that! You once more... prove this mentality change... by the endless... comparing and boxing! I don't... remember... anybody in my young days... wanting to know who people liked more... kiss! or king crimson... or for that matter... both Tchaikovsky and Nixon! They were... more about the enjoyment value... of art... rather than the idea... of being intellectual or sturdy!
I think... I have made my point! I hope you will... learn how to objectively judge music... sooner or later! Otherwise... no way you can enjoy... an artform without... spitting at the door! Or the walls... for that matter! |
I lol'd. This may be the best Moshkito impression so far. Bravo, sir.

I like the one from Undercover Boy more, but this is awesome, too!

Tchaikovsky and Nixon? Where do I find Undercover Boy’s post? Anyway, my answer is "other": Everybody screamed when I Kissed King Crimson.

When I was in high school one of my fellow students was a big Kiss fan when I first met him. I was a big prog fan and one of my favorites was The Dixie Dregs. Ran into him a couple of years later and he had become a big Dregs fan. I am still not a Kiss fan to this day, so I'm going to have to vote for Kiss.
