Over the past few weeks I noticed a couple of discussions where people mentioned that the forum search function is not very useful.
Here are three things that are good to know when searching for forum posts or discussions: 1) You can not search in post bodies, only in topic titles, so you will only find words mentioned in those. 2) if you use the forum search and want to look up fairly old posts, make sure you select 'Any date' under Find Posts, default you only get posts from the last 6 months 3) Why don't you use the Google search box on the main page for a change? In the selection box next to it, you can select between searching in the main site, the forums, or the whole internet. This one does find everything regardless of how old, and includes words in post bodies. Happy searching!!! Edited by Angelo - November 12 2010 at 16:30 |
