No, they're not in this fine resource centre's band and discography listings. FYI: their full catalogue complete with track timings, is listed at Proglands (a Quebec based site, also highly recommended) music search files.
*FLASH*: For anybody who knows their music or looking to replace their old vinyl or just may be interested, their entire catalogue (excepting 1983's "The End") is available at eMusic. They have some introductory trial offer which'll get ya 100 mp3 downloads free. 'All you have to do is cancel the subsription before their two week deadline expires Those 100 downloads are enough to get you all the early and most progressive material and then some. You can also read some pretty insightful (albethey in retrospect) reviews on their early stuff there.

Woa,that's sounds good, though I am probably too late. But then again,i would not know how to do it.In the meantime,I have now got a 'Best off' and 'Photoflamingo'.
They are a little bit all over the place (in a good way),but they are growing on me.
If you ever get tired of downloads,by all means, send them my way.

Yup, I too have mooted Crack The Sky a couple of times ... and even sent max a Rangers At Midnight mp3 ...
I don't think the "prog-value" of the band is up for debate ... so it's
probably just a matter of having too many things to do ... I'm sure
this band will be up here one day ... I must admit tho that I only have
Cracked Attic, a 15 track Best Of ... and I was quite disappointed with
some of the material on it ...

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”
"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

Glad to oblige. We Canucks are full of surprises.. .
Oh and btw, I've recently read an unconfimed report that CtS have
just completed a 20 minute plus track for "The Sale". Looks like
they may be taking a few steps back into prog territory and doing what
they do best for this one... Here's hoping....

I grew up in Baltimore and am still a Baltimore resident and grew up an avid Crack the Sky fan.I have seen them live around 30 times at various clubs in and around the city, and have met John Palumbo(got him to sign my copy of White Music).I have everything they have put out,but I prefer their earlier stuff, which I think was pretty progressive.Great band, very very underappreciated.I was really surprised to see a Crack the Sky thread.

Hey Gr8dane,
Yeah, I hear you on the cost and rarity part... If you go
to the official Crack the Sky website, click on the "free boots"
button, you'll find a trove of rarities in mp3 form there for the
asking.
Among other things, CtS's impossible to find LPs "World in Motion 1";
"The End"( both from '83) and Palumbo's equally hard to find 2nd solo
LP "Blowing Up Detroit" (from '84). I kid you not, I've been
looking for these 3 titles for over 20 years and... lo and behold there
they were. Talk about all things coming to he who waits!
Also, the 1981 "Photoflamingo" album (FYI: one of the first ever
digitally recorded LPs and likely this one will never be released on
CD) is there too. Of the live shows available to you and worth
getting, I'd reccomend the ones tagged "Baltimore 1976"; the 1999
Towson Md. unplugged show; the WNOE show from 1976 and "Dog boy At Cafe
Tattoo 1997". As for the rest of their product, Amazon.com has
some themselves and has access to other sellers linked to them - some
new, some used. You gotta shop around as many sources as you can
and *maybe* you'll luck out. But stay away from GEMM... one of
their vendors has a copy of "World in Motion" 1 for US $114.00.
Un-frakkin' believable! Stay safe and good luck finding them.

HiHo Ranger.
I have been interested in Crack the Sky for some time due to the things I have read about them.Have only managed to get one boot from them from not too long ago.I have not been able to track down their originals unfortunately.Well I could if I wanted to spend my whole paycheck.
Love to hear them.

I'm going to put in my two
cents and a plea to those of you who know of the phenomenal midwest
band CRACK THE SKY and its leader JOHN PALUMBO. They've
always made quality music that thinks as it rocks and though their
catalogue of songs hasn't been entirely consistent, they still have
produced material of substance and lasting value. They've been
releasing art rock/prog music for nearly 30 years and they're still
going strong, presently recording a new disc tentatively titled "The
Sale". Underrated, underappreciated and overlooked, they're one
of the best British bands that hail from the US.
