You know which ones really get me on edge? The ones about video converters and shoe sales.

Febus was a much loved PA member who passed away recently, and I believe they leave that there as a tribute to his favorite thread.

Thank you for enlighten me! Now I understand the purpose of the thread! Only one thing still puzzles me: I do not know what "Febus Mark VI" means. Can someone help?

Why close the thread? The initial question was seriously answered, we've had a little fun, and now we have a great spot to question various threads.

Firstly, I didn't see any thread as of his I understand as stating what you say.
Secondly, if that's so then close the friggin' thread. What is this, a trap? |

He misunderstood the nature of the thread, now he understands and appreciates. He asked a question, he got an answer. Move along, nothing to see here... |

Sorry, but I just have to say this:
If you attack those threads whose length shows their appeal to many, many PA users, don't you think the problem lies with you instead of with those others? |

What, indeed, is the purpose of ANY thread on the Intartubez?

^ That's it - that's why the thread is popular and some say, even useful. It's like a silent radio station where you don;t have to listen to every track they play, but if you see one that interests you or you haven't played for a while then you go and play it or spotify it.

Yes and you even inspired me to dig it out ... almost ... except that I went and had a look at the Febus thread first (it's not normally one I look at) and came across an album by Upsilon Acrux. I was sufficiently intrigued both by the cover and the name of the band to explore further. I found an album called Galapagos Momentum on Spotify which I rather enjoyed and is now on my wishlist! OK - now I'll play School of Language! |

Of course the initial post question does make the mistake of assuming that threads have any purpose in the first place.
I always start threads for the sole purpose of annoying people. v v v I think we've pretty much reached a consensus amongst those of us who have commented on that thread in this one. Edited by Slartibartfast - October 12 2010 at 18:58 |

That's not nice. And I have discovered a few great albums in that thread, I can't remember what they are though. |
