This. No contest at all.
Eloy comes second, far behind.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend of any of the six that I have. For poll purposes I went with One Of A Kind.

Obviously The wall even if it's a cliché but still a masterpiece.

Steve Hackett for Spectral Mornings
In 1979 there are two other good albuns to remember:
Camel - I can see your house from here
Santana - Oneness: Silver Dreams, Golden Reality

Gotta go with the majority here - I love The Wall. I also really like UK's Danger Money too - I didn't realise it was the same year as The Wall!

Went with Bruford. The Wall has its moments but I think that it is far from being the best from PF.

Difficult. Bruford, Hackett and UK made some excellent albums. Okay, I choose Bruford.
The Wall is a good album, but not as good as the three other that I mentioned.

Heresie, by a small margin. Mostly good albums, but I have to admit that I hate most of The Wall.

I can't listen The Wall anymore, I sleep in the middle of the side two , at least the movie is good. My vote goes to Heresie

This is a really tough one, '79 was clearly a great year for prog. I can think of a few other classics from '79 too .
Danger Money is an awesome album, Force Majeure is TD's 2nd best and the Eloy album is on reflection my favourite album by the band. I also really like Spectral Mornings. I find it really tough not to vote for The Wall though. It's such an iconic album, fine songs and very atmospheric.. I don't love all of the album but on the whole it's superb.
No vote for the moment........

Spectral Mornings, Heresie, Wall and Force Majeure
I went for the latter, because it didn't have votes yet.

The Wall is a monumental achievement and one of the greatest albums of all time. Sheik Yerbouti and Force Majeure are other standouts.

i I like all from the list minus Tangernine Dream, never was my kind of music. My vote is UK - Danger Money, a very underrated album IMO.

Not the best of years, but:
