Closure for the family of Amber Dubois

Yes Carrie met with him.  She won't say anything until Moe wants to know (right now he doesn't).  They sentenced him to day to three consecutive life sentences plus 24 years. Both parents of both girls, Amber's stepfather and the woman he attacked in December were allowed to speak and two videos were played.  Stacy and I  were unable to attend today but saw the whole thing on TV.  This nightmare is finally over and now we will all try and pick up the pieces and move forward. This guy will never see the light of day again.  What was interesting was the King's spoke directly to his mother who was present and told her she was just as responsible for John being what he was.  His mother works as licensed psychiatric nurse who works with prisoners who get sentenced to state hospitals.  She should have known something.  

Augh, what a bittersweet occurrence. The closure has to help, but still. Good luck to you and your folks.

My condolences to your family Brian, I wish them peace and caring.

And at least there is one less of these creatures walking the street. He's where he belongs and I hope he stays there.

Brian, I'm so happy for you guys that you *know*.   There is a family here in MN called the Wetterlings, their son Jacob was abducted over 20 years ago.  I've watched this family on the local news go through various stages of grief over the years, we all have, as they have become advocates for missing kids.  Not knowing for decades is almost like another separate tragedy for the family.  In this case, you'll not always have to wonder where Amber is.  I know its not consolation, but it beats not knowing. 

As for smug boy, he's just lucky he isn't being turned over to me for disposal.  Because I'd take care of him for the state of CA at significant savings to taxpayers, and a punishment fitting his crimes.  It wouldn't be as easy as lethal injection, but I'll spare our more compassionate members further detail.

I wish you guys the best in dealing with this my friend.    I'll be thinking of your family and Amber. 

I am glad you and Amber's family finally have closure, such as it is.  I had hoped for a different sort of closure for the person responsible, but at least he'll wreak no more havoc on the innocent.

let's hope justice is served behind the prison walls, by his peers, may his eyes be wide open too.

The vengeance within my heart swells seeing that smug photograph...but my friend, vengeance is the Lord's, and I will continue to pray for the solace and eventual gladness of you and your family.
