Yes ONE OF THE GRETEST BANDS TO EXIST (for me, only beaten out by
GENESIS or maybe PINK FLOYD!!) They are definetly magnifecent, and
Three Fates, sorry to tell u that Big Generator is much better than
Love Beach!!!!!

BG is one of my favourites too. I can understand why many Yes fans don't like it, it isn't old Yes, but if you take it at face value and forget who made it, I find it highly enjoyable. By the way, BGs for prog archives anyone? |

Yes's artistic product began to suffer when Jon
Anderson was taken back to his home planet and replaced with a cyborg copy of himself... |

It is far from my favorite, but I can find something good for every Yes album.....Even the worst Yes albums are better the best albums by most bands (with a few exceptions!)

Of course you are welcome to your opinion, but I disagree....BG has some killer tunes: Final Eyes I'm Running Shoot High Aim Low Holy Lamb (And I admit that even Rhythm of Love, Love Will Find a Way, the Title Track & Almost Like Love are guilty plaesures for me!) Union has probably just as many good tracks (I Would Have Waited Forever, Shock to the System, Lift Me Up, Miracle of Life, The More We Live-Let Go, Take the Water to the Mountain), but has more tracks that I skip than any other Yes CD: Holding On (Probably my least favorite Yes track of the entire catalog!), Dangerous (It Sure Is!), Saving My Heart (Even bad pop for Rabin!), and much Mediocrity: Silent Talking, Evensong (Bruford-Levin can do much better), Masquerade (Ditto Steve Howe)....Also, a lot of die hard Yes fans have real problems with this album because so many studio musicians were used.... Note the following side of the story from Producer Jonathan Elias: http://www.bondegezou.demon.co.uk/iv/jeinterview.htm#p2
Rick Wakeman calles it "Onion" because he cries when he hears the CD! From an interview on www.nfte.org issue 263 Yes went through this sort of management and because there’d been ABWH, because there’d been the Yes side of things and the UNION side of things, there just seemed to be managers and agents everywhere, and my personal opinion--and this is only an opinion--was that a lot of decisions where made on behalf of the band that the band didn’t make, and that were not in the best interests of the band. Certainly at the end of the UNION tour, and I say this again, this is an opinion, this is not fact, my opinion is that the management there at the time thought, “Great, Yes has built up a lot of respect…the UNION tour was a great tour, had built a lot of respect, that’s great--built up a fan base. Everything’s really good again; everything’s great. It doesn’t matter who does the album, because that’s fine, everybody will buy it now." And that’s not right. That’s not how things work. MOT: Yeah, I have to agree. It started out strong; I “Would Have Waited Forever” and “Shock To The System” kind of carried it forward, but after that it just did not sound like Yes. |

Yeah definitel he is the Frankenstein Version of the blonde one from ABBA! I wonder whether he is a Dancing Queen as well? On a serious one Squire is an awesome bass player!! Especially his line on Heart of the Sunrise when it comes out into that quieter section Edited by Gloryscene |
