Thank You,
Assaf - I hadn't intended to be quite so busy this year and instead take it easy for a while after finishing WEIRD TALES but these interesting opportunities arose and I couldn't resist.

Interesting news, Richard, you're quite busy, that's good. :-)
Congratulations on the nominations. |

It's been ages since I've done a newsletter, so here's what's been happening ....
First of all, the new album WEIRD TALES has been kindly nominated by the Progawards for two 2009 categories - best foreign album and best production. I've put the entire album up on Lastfm to hear for those intrigued: http://www.last.fm/music/Karda+Estra/Weird+Tales We've completed an 8:00 track 'The Pit & The Pendulum' for the Colossus 'The Tales Of Edgar Allan Poe' compilation CD due next year. 90% completed a version of Steve Hackett's 'Tigermoth' for a Mellow Records Genesis solo tribute CD also due next year. Speaking of which, WEIRD TALES has just received a review by Hackett biographer Alan Hewitt: http://www.twronline.net/issues/twr72/twr72_musicians_corner.htm I've been doing a spot of collaborating with Stuart Rowe of Lighterthief which has resulted in bits and bobs either out or in the can on Andy Partridge's Ape records plus stuff for KE. Other tracks also in progress, plus a go at a couple of live acoustic video recordings just in the garage. If they're any good, I'll put on Youtube. First should happen next week which is a new tune - 'Girl In A Spaceship' - a little bossa nova for classical guitar and clarinet and about as far in style from the 'Pit & The Pendulum' music as KE can get. That's about it ... All the best, Richard |
