The more the tickets sold, the bigger presence that FLOR DE LOTO will have all over the local venues. This time, it is not only about enjoying the good music, it is also about supporting the good musicians.

See you there!!

No, I won't erase the topic.

Good news!

The concert is back on schedule, same day, same place, same time as originally scheduled. The theater play that had been scheduled coincidentally with the band's sound check has finally been cancelled, so the concert is back on.

This looks a bit messy, and the band is still conviced about the artists' need to be respected in their work, but now that the play is off, the band will HAVE TO PLAY teh concert anyway and all the way. They love playing their colorful, dynamic music to their loyal fans and recepctive audiences, and Firday Nov 13th will be no exception. It is a pity that this concert will have that special touch of tension with the venue's administrative personnel... well... the bottomline is: THE CONCERT IS ON!!!!

Cancelled!!!

Serious discrepabcies with the administrative personnel of La Estación led to teh cancellation of this concert that promised to be such a major event in the Peruvian contemporary rock scene.

Apparently, it is usual that the administrative personnel mess up with the bands' rehearsing and sound check schedules that had previously been agreed upon in the contracts. Well, the FDL guys weren't willing to take it and so, regrettably, they had to cancel the show.

Maybe some other time...

Meanhwile, those who have their tickets already bought can get their money back from the music store in which they purchased their ticket.

Kind regards.

PS: Soon, I'll erase this topic.

Big plans, amazing news, high hopes and great expectations regarding the FLOR DE LOTO concert scheduled for November 13th, in Lima.

This concert will be a one-time event, and it already bears its own title: “Mundo Bizarro – Mundo Fusión”. The gig will comprise not only tracks from the band’s latest release “Mundos Bizarros” (one of the most exciting 2009 prog releases in America and worldwide, and perhaps, the best Peruvian rock album ever), but also material from the previous two albums “Flor De Loto” and “Madre Tierra”.

For this gig, the band will benefit from collaborations provided by a host of special guests: Manuel Miranda (virtuoso wind player, a leader of Peru’s fusion scene), Lucho Quequezana (internationally awarded multi-instrumentalist and composer of fusion and world music), Julio Pérez (singer of fusion-rock band La Sarita), Cali Flores (a veteran percussionist in Peru’s folk and fusion areas), Pamela Llosa (singer of the Pink Floyd tribute band Big Pink) and Michael Spitzer (singer of rock band Gaia). “Mundo Bizarro – Mundo Fusión” is a show specifically designed to highlight the plural nature of FLOR DE LOTO’s music and explore it in a live context with occasional additional musicians. It is known to many that FDL loves to make a multicolored approach to prog rock, creating an eclectic mixture of heavy rock, psychedelia, Andean and Celtic folks, psychedelia and jazz.

So… it’s gonna be great!!!

I’ll attend the gig, no doubts, I’ve already noted it down in my agenda.
